When he and Natalie gave a set tour that clock was a big issue...they adjusted the cubicles and the clock had been in Raylan but was now in Tim's. This show when you rewatch always gives you a moment when you see something you missed. Like Duffy. First all the tanning bed stuff...then he grew up in Maui and was a surfer...so his last sighting...surfing in figi. How cool!!! Love that timothy was born in Hawaii and wondered if that was the inside joke?

Justified just made the TV guide "cheers and jeers" list in the new issue.
Cheers to Justified for heading into the sunset in style. After six bullet-riddled seasons, our hero Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) finally got his man - baddie Boyd in a a series finale that tipped its hat to the late Elmore Leonard, whose books inspired one of TV's greatest westerns!!!!!!

Season six now rates as my all time fav followed by two and then one! Quarles put me off so for me season three was a bit of a yuk! Four had a super ending...could watch him in that chair...just to know all Raylan was feeling. Tho as he burned all traces of arlo in E8 this season maybe we got one idea of his thoughts. Season six was pitch perfect!!!! They made no mistakes and the two girls that were Willa stole my heart. But for me that final scene in the prison...will for me define Justified forever!!!!

In 24 hours it ends on demand so I need to bring up two questions
The first....when Raylan enters Art's office he is feeling he left something undone....was he wanting to stay? To continue being the Kentucky marshal? Why was he hesitating?
Art pours bourbon...if nelson had not interrupted what was Art going to say? What would the toast have been? Would Raylan have said more...been able to tell Art of some of what he felt?
God I will truly miss Raylan and the rest. They truly gave us the perfect ending. That they all left Harlan alive!!!!!!

Raylan in Art's office...I think it was just a feeling of being hesitant to leave, suggesting he needs to stay because of Ava...not wanting to say goodbye to the Lexington gang in the office...but he got over it when Art talked about how he got Boyd, the right way... I think if Nelson had not interrupted Raylan may have said to Art , what he said to Tim...hope the next guy is less of a pain in the ass... But, in the elevator, I think he was glad to move on... I miss it too...I think the ending was close to perfect...

Thanks for the response. I wondered if he was both happy to start anew with Winona and especially Willa and in Raglan's world....scared of failure! With Winona loving her as he always has....the failures must hurt deep down inside. That was my impression of the hesitation. And in the end they did fail...its just the love continues.

Yes...I have too much time and of course that means Justified
In the finale did anyone else pick up on the bourbon Art and Raylan shared in their goodbye? It is the same bottle Raylan brought to Art when he visited in episode one. Gosh I love how they tie things together!!!!!!
And when they filmed that finale...Natalie was likely already preggers.she is due in the fall? Bet she gets her body back in shape fast!!!!

Ripetebook's comment showed the first activity on this board in months.
For six years, Fall meant SOA, And right after Christmas Justified. 2015 just doesn't seem right.
Few thoughts 1. I am a bit worried for our favorite actor. Is he typecast? Is he leading man material for the cinema? Is he leading man material for a new show? TO may not be Clooney. But he could have been. Probably because he is a family man. JUST WONDERING. Should he break out of his male model like body - ala Clooney (thinking Michael Clayton - and beef up? On a related note, I have read articles where the new cool is to have middle age men with a gut? 2. I have conversed with another member through LinkedIn. We are in the same industry. She liked True Detective II. I didn't. Did anyone else watch it? And if so what do you think. 3. My next great hope is Fargo. I hope it doesn't have a sophomore jinx. I will be on the TV.com message board again if you want to join me.
Love JC

Ripetebook's comment showed the first activity on this board in months. Love JC On this thread, perhaps, but there have been many, many postings on this board since Spring. We are currently re-watching and discussing Deadwood, for example...and watching for any news of TO. There is a rumor about a show/movie "Deadwood Ten Years Later" -feel free to join in.

I watched True Detective II and didn't like it at all. The final 2 episodes were the best of the series but it really wasn't nearly as good as the first series. The players seemed to be like cartoon characters and the plot meandered in different directions, I lost interest.

Good to see you back, JC. I haven't watched True Detective II since I don't have HBO. I brought the DVD of season I, but stopped to take a breather. Very good, but awfully dark.
I'm very anxious for Fargo. The first season was SO good. I hope, like you, that season 2 won't be a let down.
As for Timothy with a gut...no thanks. And I don't think he would let that happen. He takes good care of himself.

I think his body type just won't get a gut. My brother was built like him 6' and 140 lbs! And it was all muscle and he ate everything. At age 60 still no gut!!! Heard only negative about true Detective. I do not have HBO either. There is a large article in TV guide from John landgraf....says too much good TV and it affects the viewers watch patterns....would love to tell him how he reduced the viewers by making shows badly scheduled. Four times in one night....til one am? Spread it out so more people can watch. Just saying? ??

On a related note, I have read articles where the new cool is to have middle age men with a gut? Yes, if it helps him get meaty roles in the character acting department. I think he should cut his hair, gain/lose weight, or do whatever it takes to stay competitive in his industry. I can think of plenty of actors in TO's age range or older who will do what it takes to land a really good role in film. Jared Leto, Mark Walberg, Sean Penn, George Clooney, Matthew McConaughey, Christian Bale and Edward Norton, just to name a few. I think TO could compete with any of these actors in a film. It's not about being a beautiful leading man all the time. These actors step outside of the box and take risks. Hopefully TO will not be typecast. That's a hard industry to remain relevant in. It all depends on the roles he takes going forward.

I don't think he chooses roles that portray him as a handsome lead (he can't help being gorgeous). He played Horry in TIWILY and Dick in High Life. I just don't think he is that ambitious and would rather spend time with the family whilst they are still at the developing stages of their young lives that schmooze for roles. Our loss but his family's gain.

I just don't think he is that ambitious and would rather spend time with the family whilst they are still at the developing stages of their young lives that schmooze for roles. Our loss but his family's gain. Those roles were really good, but TO did not have to alter his appearance much to play the characters. I'm thinking about something like Christian Bale in American Hustle. He was unrecognizable in that role. Pot Belly, balding hairline, spot on Jersey dialect, the whole nine. Or Matthew McConaughey in Dallas Buyers Club. He was also nearly unrecognizable in that role, as was Jared Leto. And George Clooney's extra pounds for his Michael Clayton role has already been mentioned. Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands...and just about everything else he's been in over the years. These are all really good looking actors who "can't help being gorgeous", but take on roles where they can be completely opposite of gorgeous. Which I think has given them longevity in the industry. I would love to see TO play in a role where he totally develops into an almost unrecognizable character. But that's just my personal preference. The only movie where he came close was Hitman. And he admitted he did not like shaving his head for that role. I loved the way he looked in that role. But, at the end of the day, it's about what TO feels comfortable doing, or what he's offered.

Ihalf agree. And yet....those severe weight gains and losses are not healthy! This man is family first!!! The acting is in his soul. The role must talk to him. If it requires drastic health risks....no way! He will be husband and daddy first! I admire the man for that. To me he was great as Raylan, Seth, Wes...etc. Long haired or bald..his body type may not be able to get a gut!!!! Read my earlier post.

Been downloading some of my favorite episodes into my tablet....reckoning with that in the woods scene, fathers and sons with the great love scene with Winona, bulletville for obvious, pilot again for obvious, bloody Harlan again for obvious....they all warm my heart....Timothy just gets to me as Raylan! Like most of you don't share my passion!!!!!

I agree, this severe weight gains/losses are really unhealthy and not everyone can easily do it. It's one thing to stop going to the gym for a few months for a more "everyday" look or to get a bit gaunt, but what Christian Bale does is extreme, and to be honest, to me it's more a gimmick than anything to do with acting skills. Acting is mostly about how you hold yourself, your voice etc etc, not about superficialities like this. I think TO is doing enough not being vain, as High Life for example has shown.

An actor or actress can wear prosthetics to change appearance. My oldest son is an artist and right now is doing work with prosthetics. His work is somewhat classified, so I can't get into it here, but it is pretty fascinating. A lot of the special effects make-up that you see in movies and on TV are accomplished with prosthetics. My son is also trained in special effects make-up, with or without the use of prosthetics. These processes can totally transform a person's appearance, weight-wise, feature-wise, etc. so that you wouldn't even recognize them. You all know this. You've all seen it. Ever try on a wig that is a different style or color than your own hair? That's just a simple change, but even that can alter your appearance a bit. I don't think it's necessary to screw with your body's metabolism to gain and lose weight. I agree that it's unhealthy. Plus, after a certain age, that added weight is sometimes really hard to get rid of.

He seems health conscious without being a fanatic. And since age was mentioned...there are heart etc implications to drastic weight changes for a stinking role. And I think he is way too smart to risk his health...his priorities are pretty solid. Family comes first. Acting is more story than "gadgets". That is my sense of the actor and man.

Hate to open healing wounds....most are likely over Justified.... Was on Youtube and stumbled on "Afterbuzz" review of Justified...in this case the finale. Why mention it you ask? They mentioned the nine mil and shocking their theory was not one I ever thought of. They said it was buried under the corpse of that guy Ava and Zach climbed the mountain to see. If you recall Boyd did find the body and jumped back when he found a body and not the money (he had already killed Zach and been injured by the explosion set up by Zach)....do we have opinions? Also they talked about the premiere of the finale....how there was a huge crowd and tickets were hard to get and best....how many attendees were pros but were not working...they loved the show and were there for the show.....we were loved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Raylan, Boyd and Ava will live on....man now I need that movie. By the by...Vice Principals is truly lousy and an insult to Walton's gifted talent.
