They put up the promo on Youtube. Raylan's face as he walks into the office with Willa. Also, why are they back in the motel?

I figured they were back in the motel because that's where Raylan was staying since he's getting ready to leave Kentucky forever.

I still can't believe that the man never had a decent place to live. It didn't need to be a palace... just clean and more comfortable. Raylan, being Raylan probably just didn't care. But to take the woman you love and your baby there? Yuck. At least they got a crib for the baby.
BTW, in the promo...are those bruises on Ava's neck or is she just splotchy because she's nervous? Some people get that way, but damn, it looks like someone tried to choke her.

I also thought there were bruises on Ava's neck at first, mondayschild, but looking closer, it could be hives from nerves. Of course bruises would not be much of a stretch at this point. But it would be hard to see Boyd do the things his brother did to Ava.
After reading Walton's statement about the next episodes, I guess anything is possible.

Those are wonderful. So sweet.
Why do I have a horrible feeling that something's going to happen to Raylan now?

siss, I think they're hives, too, on further inspection. Not really where bruises would be if someone had choked her. I sometimes get hives and at one time had them very badly. Each outbreak can look a little different. Or maybe she was having some kind of allergic reaction.

Those are wonderful. So sweet. Why do I have a horrible feeling that something's going to happen to Raylan now? Probably because at the mid-point of the final season ... the prize is within RG's grasp ... and you feel that is a set up for bad things to happen. 1. Anything "bad" can't happen until E13 2. Someone here - sorry I forgot - said Elmore Leonard's protagonists don't die at the end. 3. The first two paragraphs of the theme song of the show "Never Leaving Harlan Alive" pretty much have always told me how this would end way back after S2's ending. In the deep dark hills of eastern Kentucky That's the place where I trace my bloodline And it's there I read on a hillside gravestone 'You will never leave Harlan alive' When my granddad's dad walked down Catron's Mountain And he asked Tillie Helton to be his bride He said, won't you walk with me out of the mouth of this holler? Or we'll never leave Harlan alive Who will be able to heed the call to "walking out of this holler"? Boyd/Ava? No. That's why the writers gave him a reason to stay (besides being under a RICO investigation). RG/Winona? RG and Winona don't even have to ask that question. Just in case this can provide comfort to RG's character fans JC

Well said. My fear is more what will Winona feel with Raylan going after Boyd back in Harlan? Why is she there? Her history is one of coming then going...has becoming a mother changed her? Can Winona literally rescue Raylan from his normal but risky ways? Or is the real one to rescue him....Willa!!!! I guess I want his heart saved!!!! One more day....

WKW,
With less conviction than is my usual ... perhaps Charlie is turned in (last time we saw him was driving away into Mexico - and perhaps the Mexican officer turned on Charlie) after keeping the money and he turns on Winona? Anyways, I will bet the old acquaintance is Charlie.

I'm hoping it's Judge Reardon.

That would make sense if he has to respond to the federal game of making Ava a CI. But there is no plaintiff I can think of ....
But the "Judge"? I will take the cameo in a heart beat !

I was thinking maybe that's the 'acquaintance' Art talks to about the Grady Hale cases.
Thinking that even if they found Charlie, there's no evidence against Winona (or Raylan) for them to bring her in.

So the acquittance is Markham...art did say they met several times. Raylan gets this visit I think because as is Winona...she wants him!!!! The woman loves him and now shares that beautiful baby girl..her rules seem more open and fair...can we hope he hears her. And I for one am happy that he is back where he began.wonder if her tablecloth is still there....they are still going back to season one episode one.

Winona and Raylan, Raylan and baby, all three of them, a love scene, a loving daddy scene, a showing off my child scene, some possible hope for their future...I am so happy! Also loved and was fearful about the tension between Ava and Boyd...I don't think she's safe yet. I don't think Boyd will trust her, out of sight, and I think she knows that he won't...loading his gun at the end, oh my. Nice to see Art in the office, poking around...I'm glad they didn't put the baby in the hands of anyone at the office...that was nice. Rachel in charge, that was good too. Loved that Raylan went to Winona and not chasing after Walker...He is dangerous to anyone crosses his path. And did I say I loved the Raylan/Winona love scene...waited a long tie for that! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, yes, we Raylan and Winona 'shippers got the pinata to spill the candy this week, at last, but I'm going go in another direction here, the Ty Walker storyline.
Does the Walker story line seem bizarre and disjointed to you??? Does anyone feel like mid season sluggishness is happening? Where are they going with him? What was established in this episode other than Raylan & Winona? Not much, in my Tally.
Art tells Markham he's onto him as the old CI. So What? Why is Markham as an old CI important to bringing down the Boyd Crowder? Is BC the point of this season?
The Crowder's story deserves its own post, so I'll work on that tomorrow.
Markham forgets what he learned in Vietnam and leaves a man behind. OK, we knew he's a dick already...So What?
Take this bullet proof vest to Mickey Mouse on Main street in Orlando?? Does anyone know what is happening there? Maybe I had so many little weepies in my eyes over Raylan and Winona that I missed the point there, LOL. Markham lets those two UK kids go but puts down a couple of EMS guys who apparently happen upon him. I'm just confused.

A few first random thoughts; Good catch on the bruises, Monday, you were the first to suspect she was choked. Mare, I took the Boyd's gun loading scene to be more informative than ominous, although it was that, too. I "think" the point was to show us Boyd changing back from blanks to real bullets. As in, when he gave Ava the gun, saying 'just shoot me now' he was messing with/testing her. He was NOT trusting her with a loaded gun, letting us viewers know definitively that he was on to her. I though they played Rachel a little harshly. She made a point of saying that it was sexist for Raylan to offer Willa to her and not Tim. Really marshal Brooks? If you were so secure in your position you might have felt safe at least saying cute baby or something. Raylan making coffee in his room in one scene and walking in with styrofoam coffee cups in another? I guess the home-made coffee was bad. LOL I really didn't think Limehouse would rat Ava out. he seems to have abandoned his 'protect damsels in distress' M. O. Or maybe he figured out she just wasn't gonna stop running to Nobles and bringing trouble. MCM, the vest. First, it was probably to show us, with Tim and Raylan shooting at him, why he survived. Second, the frat boys were more use to him alive than dead. He wanted them to leave a credit card trail out of the area. He had no possessions, other than the vest, to use for an errand. The frat boys chose Orlando not him. Art hasn't lost it. I liked how he was playing with Markham. Lastly, I loved seeing Winona again. I did not like that Willa was sick. Natalie is great. But, dum dum dummmm, I did not like the look on Raylan's face as they were walking out the door. What was he thinking? ?

I'm confused why Willa has to have a heart murmur. Is that something that's going to be revisited before the end of the series? Or was it some kind of plot ploy?
As for both couples, Raylan and Winona and Boyd and Ava, last nights episode left me feeling that both relationships might actually be doomed. And I wonder if the look on Boyd's face at the end of his conversation with Ava, and the look on Raylan's face when Winona walked out was a subtle or not so subtle foreshadowing by the writers going into the final episodes of the season.
I'm going to watch again tonight. I might be missing something.

Of course Raylan looked pensive. He said this only has a 50-50 chance of working, well 49-51 either way. But he knows what's happened before. So he's not going to be overjoyed. She's also on her way to Willa's doctors appointment. So he's probably concerned about that too.
I don't think they're doomed. I think they've both grown up a bit. They've got a better chance now than they've ever had.
Boyd and Ava, that's another matter.

I think the heart murmur is just a plot line to get Winona back to Kentucky and it will turn out to be minor...and I think Raylan's expression would be of a parent concerned. Also, his life is taking a big turn, following Winona's announcements, he's got to do some attitude adjustment on a few fronts.
