sure does...Lucky Tina! I love the expressions on both their faces...I have such high hopes for this movie! I was poking around looking at early reviews over at Rotten Tomatoes. I saw 2 reviews where TO is mentioned. One couldn't figure out why he was there, why he was cast. He said TO is in several scenes throughout, and is just 'there.' I'm concerned the book was edited for the screen, and Horry time is not well represented. I can't remember the review (when I have more time I'll go back and look and post the link). But I asked the reviewer if he'd 1) read the book and 2) seen TO in The Mindy Project? Because if he had, he wouldn't be asking why he was cast. And that if his performance doesn't work, I suspect it's an editing issue. For TO's sake (and ours because we've waited a long time to see this film), I hope he's just an outlier. There were a couple of not so hot reviews that I found thru Tim's IMBD page, as new news items. Can't remember too much as I looked at them very quickly, but reviewer was not impressed. I wondered too, if he read the book...which should be required to talk about this story. There is a lot of talent in this movie, and a lot of young actors to attract a younger audience. Hopefully there is a big audience for a NON-ZOMBIE/NON-VAMPIRE movie. I think it will be popular...

Sounds like they changed Horry's injury from a bar fight to a car accident. Make him more sympathetic? It doesn't sound as if he's going to be as crucial as in the book, but if we don't get the swimming pool scene I hope the moment between him and Wendy is as sweet as it looks in the previews.

NY Premiere tonight! Anybody close by with a camera? Just found some photos on 2 sites, one of Toronto premiere, 9/7/14, on justjared.com and one of NYC premiere on 9/8 on demotix.com...Tina Fey and others, but, sigh, no TO. But these were just posted, maybe they'll be more later, tomorrow... Maybe he'll be at the Hollywood Premiere on 9/15? Hope to see photos of that one next week.

On HULU you can see one of the trailers and about 6 short clips from the film...TO is only seen for a fraction of a second in one of them...still wondering if there will be a star-studded Hollywood Premiere...?

You know, mare, I could have sworn that I saw a trailer with a snippet of a Tim scene, too. Wishful thinking? It went so fast that I wasn't completely sure, but I thought it was Tim. I'm not sure that I will love the movie as much as I loved the book, but if we get to see a bit of Tim it will be worth it.

Wow. As of today, the Fresh-o-meter rating over at Rotten Tomatoes.com dropped from a 'fresh' 60 percent to a 'rotten' 50 percent. I read somewhere to day that Connie Britton's sex scene was cut out of the movie. I'm thinking a lot of things were cut of this movie I'm still going to see it, but I think we're going to have to buy the DVD that hopefully has lots of deleted TO scenes. This is how I felt when I saw Kyle Chandler in Argo and Zero Dark Thirty. Good performances but not a major character, not enough screen time.

I don't put a lot of weight on that site, for movie reviews. By the way, listened to the audio version of "This is Where I leave you" over the last few days. A nice way to hear the story. AND... Just saw TO on Ellen, man, did he look good!

He did say on Ellen that he is "barely in the movie" and if it's bad people will blame Jason Bateman. LOL

(After hearing Ellen and Kristen Wiig literally butcher 'Let It Go.' What a waste of air time that could have been diverted to the delightful Mr. Olyphant.)

Just saw him on Ellen. Way too short an appearance for us. He did look good. Totally pinned the ability to carry the movie on Justin Bateman. hehehehe

Conan is on TBS at 11:00 PM. I'm sure someone here will provide a link for us.
I like Tim's gray hair now. When it was just the sides he reminded me too much of Morticia Addams. You know...most of the hair was dark with the shocking white stripes. Now that there is more of it, I think it looks very natural and handsome.

I'm so happy that this movie is showing where I live. I was a little worried that it wouldn't. I'll probably go see it Saturday night. I go to the movies at the theatre about 3 or 4 times a year. This will definitely be one that I'll go for.

Isn't this exciting to finally have this film come out...we've been watching for it for about a year, I think. Saw it last night and enjoyed it very much. I skip down a bit so if you don't want to read about my reaction, you can skip it. I know I like to see a film without too much of other people's opinions ahead of time.
************************************************************************************************************************************************
Spoiler alert!
Like it a lot! There was not enough TO, but is there ever?
I'll share what I liked and didn't and hope to hear the same from all of you.
I thought Tina Fey was wonderful as a dramatic actress and there was more to her role than just the one-liners that were promoted in the commercials. She was very believable as the sister of three brothers but there was not enough of her and Horry and their story.
They really could have used that swimming pool scene from the book, it was so sweet and so informative of their relationship...I was so sorry it wasn't there. A few times it felt to me like by showing Horry with messed up hair and sloppy clothes it was meant to indicate he had this brain injury holding him back. There wasn't enough of him to tell that story as well as I hoped. I blame the director. I think TO is a fabulous actor with range, but I don't think he was used to full advantage. But even so, I did really like the movie and I would see it again and recommend it. Loved the relationship of Wendy with Judd, and actually with Wendy and any other character. Tina Fey was good. I just listened to the book on tape this past weekend so the story was fresh in my mind. Even though it has been promoted as a comedy, it was just as much a drama. There were a lot of emotional issues between the characters and I liked that a lot. There was a lot to think about, not just laugh at. Didn't care for the Phillip character by Adam Driver, he is not appealling to me, althought he is getting a lot of attention. I liked Rose Byrne better in Damages, she was kind on one dimensional here. For a family honoring their father, we didn't learn much about that character. Bought Jane Fonda as the Mom from the book..and I like that the ending was not wrapping up all the loose ends, but giving us the idea that some characters have moved forward, some are doomed, some are hopeful, some are still up in the air. All in all, I think there would be a whole film in the story of Wendy and Horry and I would want to watch that. Also, I thought that the author, Jonathan Tropper, did a nice job writing the screenplay, from his novel...but I do think he writes as if he pictures his stories on the big screen. I could even see how they could make a sequel, what's happening with all these various folks 2 or 3 or 5 years down the road. Would love to hear what you think...
Now, how long til "Justified" is back on?

I just came home from seeing the movie. I'm not going to say more than:
I thoroughly enjoyed it. It moved along, pacing was good. I laughed, I cried. The performances of everyone were EXCELLENT. TO was in it more than I thought he would be. He's excellent in every scene he's in.
The reviews were either too harsh or full of shit. Due to length of film, there were a lot of things in the book that did not make the film
I'll definitely buy the DVD and hope there are some extras on it.

When Wendy sees Horry, she throws her arms around him without taking off her raincoat, and he drops the coats he’s gathered to hug her back. "Hey, Sunflower." "Horry," she whispers into his neck.
