Watched "Advice from a Caterpillar" this week. I'd give my opinion, but don't want to influence anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Anybody watched it lately? is there a better thread where I could give an opinion without "spoilers"?

I just removed my check marks from the poll as I could not make it "accept them" and then clear for the next person.
Anyways. Have seen all the biggies-High Life, Coastlines, Perfect Getaway, Die Hard, catch and release, Crazies, Advice from a Caterpillar, Go, Broken Hearts club, and Girl next door, and of course Damages and Deadwood, and all of Justified. Favorite role by TO is Dick in High Life, in the movies and Raylan on TV. I could watch him as Dick anytime...he said a lot with his eyes in that one, a sad story but a great character. Also like Sonny a lot in Coastlines.

I liked him in Deadwood, too. I thought he was pretty hunky eye candy in Catch and Release, too. (And in Perfect Getaway and Advice from a Caterpillar. Go, too.) Did you see him in No Vacancy? (Didn't see it on your list.) Ensemble cast, madcap film, but a younger TO is amusing.

S P O I L E R S P A C E And then write away. It would give fair warning. This is how we did it in the old days.

hi - didn't see "no Vacancy" yet, but I'll be on the lookout. I agree about Catch and Release. There are several scenes in that one that make watching the rest worth it...I'm guessing you know the ones. And he just looks so good in every scene he's in...and it breaks my heart when he overhears the conversation..."less than nothing." wish we could see him in some more adult romance...?

his less than nothing is all "the eyes and face" and no need for words...the man just gives you everything with one look. and then we have that great kiss in the bait shop...oh heck I loved that movie and him in that one...

Catch and Release was the first TO movie that I saw, other than seeing him in Justified and Deadwood. I think my mouth was hanging open for the whole movie because I just couldn't believe how good looking this man is. I had to remember not to gasp or say anything rude because I was watching it with my husband. It was an okay movie, pretty forgettable if it hadn't had Tim in it. I'll have to find No Vacancy and Advice From a Caterpillar. I've seen a few short clips from "Advice" on youtube. He looks really good in them.

A slight change in subject. I have always thought if he got a role in a blockbuster...people would get to know him better and more roles would come his way....he was up for "Lone Ranger" but it is getting panned and is even be called a flop. Johnny Depp is taking it on the chin...Armie Hammer has not even been mentioned...Guess maybe being in a blockbuster isn't always the promise of bigger and better. His choices and career have I think two criteria...can I support my family with this project and is the story good? And Justified is a yes on both those. If they were to make a movie from the series...I bet we'd all show up.... Just a thought.

Jess, I LOVE Paul Bettany and think Sam Rockwell is cool. I started out this whole fan thang by joining a jillion Russell Crowe email lists and boards. LOL I still love Russell but he's not my A #1 BF at this point. I'm with you on Russell. I got crazy over him when Robin Hood came out, close to three years ago now. I still like him - I especially love the two westerns he made - but Tim has eclipsed him. I think Tim is a pretty big fan of Russell's acting - somebody told me he based the character of Seth Bullock on Bud White (LA Confidential). I can see that and if it's true it's pretty cool. Do you still post on Crowe Crossing? That's pretty much the only forum still active from what I can see. If so, what's your user name? andiiv,

I must have lost track of this thread. When I went over it again, I found your question. No, I'm not on Crowe's Crossing. I was never much for the boards, but was on several email lists of Russell fans. Went to 9 TOFOG concerts in LA, San Diego, Austin and Chicago.

Fifteen for me in total. If we were to tally repeat viewings it would be much higher of course, with Go probably getting the most attention from me. I actually own Rock Star, believe it or not, though it's probably his worst look in a movie. No Vacancy has recently been getting some play on one of the movie channels, and I just ran across that the other day. It's kind of amazing how frequently TO is on TV on any given day: if I do a search on my DVR for him, there's always something on either that day or the next. Goes to show how diverse and extensive his body of work is, after so long.

If repeats count...catch and release too many times (bait shop kiss kills me), perfect getaway again too many times, go, dreamcatcher (a bit hard to watch), a man apart, girl next door, this is where I leave you, and I am number four. I love his TV stuff more.

Can I admit starz has been showing catch and release and I have watched every time!!!! Then HBO shows this is where I leave you and while his role is small he is so good as the lost Horry.
But I would give up these repeats for one episode of Justified. Show me the Promise! Show me the Reckoning.... Just give me Raylan.
Grinder Tuesday is part one of two....maybe we get four episodes!!!!!!!

Would love it more without Kevin Smith side plot, but man, TO looked so good. Nice chemistry with Jennifer Garner. Also watched "This is Where I Leave You" mostly for the "Horry" parts...but I liked the whole movie. I think I remember that author Jonathan Tropper had two or three other novels, to possibly be filmed and that TO was one of the potential cast...but maybe that didn't go anywhere. Grinder, tonight, yay!

I watched Catch and Release again over the holidays, he was sooooo beautiful in that film.
I read the Tropper book that had been muted as a film starring Tim and Liev Schrieber (I think), it was called Bush Falls. Tim was supposed to play the gay childhood friend of the main character and it would be a great role role for him, lots of scope.

He did a full on gay role. Not that he can't do it justice. But after Raylan and Seth he needs that raging sexiness....my opinion only.

T hat sounds familiar to me.Do you think that is actually going to happen? or just a past possibility...maybe the actors need to be a bit younger for that story? I know I read it, but details are sketchy...
