I was switching between news channels, as I am wont to do, and saw this about 8:30, I think. What sad news. I have really enjoyed his performances. So young. So sad. RIP, James.

hi everyone- although Justified is number one for me, I will be watching the first of the last season of Breaking Bad tonight. Don't care about this show near as much as Justified, but they are telling a compelling story over there on AMC and I want to see what happens next. The journey of Walter White has been pretty amazing...from good man to the evilest. How will it end? Anyone else interested in this? And it helps to fill the time until Season 5, doesn't it?

I have never watched it but I am watching the final season of Dexter....it is back to what made it so watchable in the beginning and I am really enjoying it. I have also started watching Ray Donovan and think it is really rather good. From our side of the Atlantic you should try to catch Broadchurch and The Fall on BBCA they are both great. I have been very disappointed in Top of the Lake....it's what we call in Scotland "Dreich" (miserable cold and wet!)

I'm a BB fan, too, mare27. Like you, it's not my favorite show ... Justified is. But I want to see the final season ... bad. I don't subscribe, so I have to wait until it's up either on iTunes or Amazon, probably available tomorrow. I hope I don't have to wait too long!!

I like BB too. Like you all, it's not my favorite, but I'm looking forward to watching the last part of the last season. The story is so good, and it's a wild, crazy ride.
Weegie- I also watch Dexter. I've always liked it. I've read all of Jeff Lindsay's Dexter books, too. My husband and I watched Top of the Lake. I thought it was pretty good. I may have to check out the other ones you mentioned.
It is nice to have some shows to watch while we're waiting for Justified. There really is so much good quality television now. Ten years ago I hardly watched any TV at all.

I tried to watch Dexter and couldn't get into it ... at the same time I found Justified. I think I made the right pick. I'm still watching Longmire. Good season that is almost done. I'm waiting and waiting to see if 'The Vatican' will be greenlit on Showtime. I need my weekly Kyle Chandler fix but bad! But him, as a Cardinal? That's going to be weird ... lusting after a Cardinal.

Did BB premier last night? Shows you how much I pay attention. It's good, damn it, but not as good as Justified; and I'm sick of Hollywood being so in love with it.

But if BB and Justified aired at the same time, I'd watch Justified first, hands down. During the summer when there's not much on TV, it fits the bill. Don't you think Hollywood is so in love with BB because of the subject matter? That's always been my theory. And its part of that bunch of shows about anti-heroes. (I honestly think that's why Kyle Chandler shocked everyone with a win a couple of years ago. Voters get tired of the glut of anti-heroes.) Which is why I think award voters would vote for Justified ... if only they'd watch it. And FX would do a better job of promoting it. But that ship has sailed. It's up to us fans.

Yes, motorcity, the BB "premiere" was last night. I don't get the overwhelming enthusiasm for it either...it's a good story for sure, but not better that Justified. But I have noticed a spillover of actors who we have seen on Justified, showing up on BB. Kevin Rankin (devil), Damien Herriman, ( Dewey), Jim Beaver, (Shelby/Drew), and a few others. Nice to see those faces again, they are all so talented. Even Jere Burns has a recurring role on BB. I am anxious to see how they conclude the story, as the main character has spun deeper and deeper into the depths of evil, it is harder to watch. All sympathy for Walt and his cancer has been destroyed by his actions to protect himself. And what about Jesse, he is suffering right now. I want to know what happens to Walt's family, most of all. I'm sure Walt must die, but what happens to the rest.... I don't know if there can be a satisfying ending to this horror, but I need to know!

Oh, BTW, I'm a Dexter girl too. They completely lost me during the hanks kid/I'm in love with my brother season; but I decided to tune into the final season and so far, it's o.k. I'm one of the few people who liked the "Lumen" season following Trinity. I thought they should have left Julia Stiles in place as his killer side kick / gf. I couldn't stand that they went Whap-o, I'm all better now that I killed they guy who raped me, c-ya, Dexter.

I liked the Lumen season too and also thought that the ending just didn't ring true. My favourite was the Trinity season.

I don't have HBO, so I have never seen Dexter. I have seen a tiny bit of BB, but never made time in my life for it. I considered watching the marathon that has been running, but, hey. There are only so many hours in a day (or night) and I have weightier problems right now. I have to pass on Walter White. Maybe, at some time in the future I will spring for the boxed set. I did that for Deadwood and have watched it, start to finish twice. I'm ready for round three. It's that good. At some point, I may feel that way about BB. But the time has not yet come.

On BB, I just wanted to share my experience. I watched it after it had been out for quite a while, and like you, I had heard all the buzz. I'm not particularly a fan of Bryan Cranston, but I was a fan of Vince Gilligan's X Files episodes. Soon, past seasons started showing up on Netflix. Anyway, I watched from the beginning and didn't care for it. Very violent. Makes Justified's violence seem tame (to me). Anyway, friends were like, "Oh, you have to keep watching ... just get past Season 1." Ugh. I made myself do it. And you know what? It did find its stride. I could say the same thing about Justified. I have a friend who is watching Season 1 now and is dying. She's at the beginning to middle of Season 1. I'm half tempted to tell her to fast forward to Season 2, but we all know there is some background information that would be good for her to have. Plus, there are some fine, fine episodes coming up for her soon in Season 1. I will say this about BB ... Anna Gunn was not my favorite character until last season. The fact that she was snubbed by the Emmys is a travesty.

Yes, they do, Dolphin. I watched the first season of American Horror Story. Didn't watch season 2. It didn't appeal to me. But I think I will watch season 3. The previews look creepy good! AMC is not afraid to tout their shows.

Sorry, I was thinking American Horror Story was AMC; it's really FX. Why does it get more promos than Justified? I just don't get why they don't advertise the show six ways from Sunday. The critics love it. Why doesn't FX show the love?

It's the same over here. I thought we were in for a re-run of season 3, they showed the first episode last night (or early this morning) and as far as I can see that's it....no more.

AMC is not afraid to tout their shows. I watched the first season of AHS too (mostly because it was Connie Britton's first, post- FNLs role). I wasn't interested in the 2nd season at all. Are they totally re-tooling again for Season 3? Monday, tell me about it.
