ripetbook, you were a true believer. No matter what it took, even if you were up half the night, you watched and re-watched. Those of us who had other options handled it differently, but we were pretty involved, too, in whatever way we could be.I think all of us watched every episode more than once and I'm guessing that most of us have all six seasons on DVD by now. Everyone has their favorite show, and for us it was Justified. I guess we can't expect everyone to love it the way that we do. But I am heartened by the response of the critics who are slamming Emmy for ignoring it.Maybe some who have never seen it will find it on DVD or at other places. Then they will get us!
P.S. My thanks to all of the critics and to TV Guide for supporting this show for six years. We are not alone.

IMO some of the best shows and the characters in them seem to be " Always the bridesmaid never the bride" case in point damn fine shows - Justified of course, NCIS my personal fave, been watching it from the very beginning and as far as I'm aware of zip, nada nominations.Another show I have just started to watch is Wiseguy, heard about it from an acquaintance, my favorite and best story arc is with Kevin Spacey as Mel Profit, I don't or can't remember if that story arc got any love. Back to Justified, I think and then this is my personal opinion shows like this just get overlooked or not considered because of subject and content. I have not seen any shows that have had action like this one or others like it get nominated for any major awards. This is not hate for people that like Madmen but I have never cared for of got that the critics and awards people fall over shows like this one. Not my thing. However I do think, my personal opinion agsin that this show will win this year, last season and all. Also There are just too many shows now on Network, Cable , Netflix & Amazon.

It always felt (since being so into Justified) that before the seasons even began...shows were picked. Mad Men, Modern Family, Broadwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, etc. Some did deserve an Emmy but five or six....no way. So the Kentucky based drama was just ignored. Only guest stars ever won....like the real stars were not worthy? ? And both Timothy and Walton got no love not just on Justified but The Shield and of course Deadwood. Guess you need to kiss some serious ass to get any attention!

It's always a personal thing with what you like or love or even hate. But to me what the voting panels on awards are doing just seems lazy. I absolutely loved the first few seasons of Mad Men and think that they deserved any and all awards, especially for the writing IMO. But it has become repetitive and just not as interesting in its second half, so I don't understand why they just keep heaping praise on them. It's had its day, fame and award wise, so just let it go. Personally I think the actors on Justified were getter better and better and at least TO (and some others) would have deserved some recognition in this last season. Sometimes I think the voters' thought processes go something like: "Oh I know this show. It was good last year, so it'll be good now. No need to evaluate anything else." Also I think they have trouble separating individual aspects. If a show is generally of good quality, they will all the nods to those shows and actors while a brilliant performance on a mediocre show will get overlooked.
I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the genre, because the Oscars were falling all over themselves with Django Unchained (also a Western with some drastic violence and a similar sense of humour). I liked it generally but it was seriously overrated IMO.
Oh well, let's just be happy that we know the show and that we got six seasons of it including a wrapped up ending. This is more than other shows could do.

Guess I wanted the show rewarded so we might get a movie or miniseries at some later date. Incentives? I would love for Boyd to escape and discover he has a son! Imagine what they could do with that! Or how bout....cartel kills Dan grant and we complete the Miami cartel story with Raylan...and now he has more at stake...Willa as well as Winona. Just ideas..

'book, I don't want Boyd to EVER find out about his son. The Miami cartel story, however, sounds very interesting. I liked Dan and would hate to see him dead, but it would be the catalyst to for an exciting mini-series or movie.

And we all could see Art come assist Raylan. Plus we all want more Raylan and Winona stuff adding in their child. Reyes only stopped going after Raylan cause Dan said he'd kill him for it. Raylan would gladly put Reyes down...let us see his smarts but that the anger is gone. We are done with Boyd and Ava....but not Raylan!!!!

You know what, as much as I'd like to see more of Raylan (and TO of course), I am so happy with the final episode I really don't want to spoil that. Justified got a great wrapped up ending, anything more would seem like an afterthought to me.
I just hope that TO gets a new project soon and that we'll see more of him.

I really like Michael Chiklis but on that show Walton did still a lot of his thunder and so deserved to win. That was another show that had no love from the awards shows/

IMO I think all awards shows are biased to a point. I mean Justified, NCIS, and other shows and genres like scifi shows have these huge and major fan bases and these shows bring in huge ratings/ numbers and the awards people don't even care. So what happens these shows get no love, shut out & overlooked. Instead giving the big awards to the same people, boring. Last year I was major upset because Bryan Cranston and his show one for no other reason that it was the end of the show. True Detective and Matthew McConaughey should have one. End of story. That's All. As for Oscars yeah, they are biased to I mean for instance Leo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt have done stellar work with a lot of films and directing and have yet to win the big awards.

There was some press a couple of years ago....that because Kentucky and Harlan were a theme..well it resonates with fans and critics....Emmy people were not so inclined!!!! Honestly I think FX fails in many cases to garner favor with Emmy as well. That is the politics of TV. HBO gets attention...AMC gets attention...FX not so much.

I notice that FX really doesn't do a lot of press for their shows around the awards season not like other networks do, a shame because they have had some real good shows worthy of the big awards.

About a miniseries or something for Justified, as much as I would love something like that. I really did like how the show wrapped up.However if something like that does happen it should move quickly. With the actors moving on with possible other shows and movies their schedules could be harder to squeeze or add to their to do list. I know 24 came back as a miniseries and the ratings were not there and their loyal fan base weren't that impressed and interested. I think the powers that be are planning another reboot but without Kiefer. I doubt that one is going to work out at all if it goes all the way with the process.

The way it ended..the movie should be all Raylan! Ava can not be featured...unless she wants to go to prison. Boyd is there already. But Miami and the cartel past and present could be opened up for story. Plus Winona and Willa. We could address Dan grant and his control of geo Reyes when it comes to Raylan. Sutter would be comic relief. Or we could bring Tim gutterson to Miami. There is much they can do without reopening Justified/Kentucky. There could be Justified/Miami. Or Rachel could need help in seattle and call on Raylan and tim. People always wanted more of the marshals....maybe that could be addressed. Just ideas!!!!!!

Am watching not sure why....nothing impressing...oh wait....they did a tribute to finales in 2015 and yes we were there....the gunfight with Raylan and Boone. I would rather the "we dug coal" line.,..oh well. At least we got one scene.

I would rather the "we dug coal" line.,..oh well. At least we got one scene. I was determined not to watch...but I flipped it on right when they did that tribute...too bad it was the gunfight scene and not the last two lines...I thought the same as you... I found a list of presenters on line and wondered if anyone connected to Justified would be presenting, but no such luck... as Tim has said in the past, about not being included, "well good, then my evening is free..." I'll bet he is watching the Green Bay/Seattle game, more likely than the awards show...

I just saw on the news this morning that John Hamm won Tim's award....that should never have happened. I'm glad Mad Men didn't win the best drama, besides I love GOT (but not as much as Justified)

I thought viola Davis was wonderful. I was upset by hamm's win....glad modern family won nothing!!!! Most was a snooze fest! That Justified gang would have changed that. And sadly there is no next year!!!!!

Agree on Viola Davis, Ripetebook and agree on GOT, Weegie. Its like the members of the academy stopped watched after season two.
They are assholes. What else can you say?
