if you go to TO's IMBD page, there is a link to many news articles about this new film...including filming starting mid-May in Munich. Actually one says filming starts today, and will continue all over the world, and film is scheduled to be released by Christmas this year! I find that amazing, since it took his last film about 2.5 yrs to be released after filming.
I imagine this was in the works long before his "job search" on Ellen, LOL!
I hope it is the start of many diverse and quality film roles for our favorite, can't wait!
Looks like quite the movie star here, don't you think?

TO is the only thing that could drag me to a film about Snowden.

So glad to see he's got something new going on. I just hope it's not a minor role. Hope we'll see him on screen for more than 5 minutes. A Christmas release date sounds great.

The documentary about this event, "Citizenfour" is up for academy award tonight. I saw it yesterday, trying to figure out what role TO could have as a CIA "friend" of Snowden...helping him or watching him?...I wonder. I am going to read the book that Oliver Stone bought the rights to...A film with Oliver Stone should be a good move for TO...hope it is the first of many movie roles...I have high hopes.

More publicity, more interest...more eyes on this film...a great opportunity for TO to be seen. I hope.

This has definitely peaked my interest. Might not watch otherwise, but I'm anxious to see Timothy's role here.

Per TO's IMBD page today, Nicholas Cage has been added to the cast of Oliver Stone's Snowden film, playing a government official. TO is playing a CIA official, maybe some scenes together? This film ought to be very interesting!

TO is the only thing that could drag me to a film about Snowden. I'm in agreement with you, there MCM!! I would probably steer away from both Oliver Stone and Edward Snowden, but I'm really glad Tim is getting what will probably be a fairly high profile film.

mcm, you and bookperson39 are lucky if you live close enough to see a movie together. It would be so wonderful if we could have a Justified reunion. It is not easy for me to travel, but I dream about it anyway!

Just watched "To catch a thief" and thought a remake with timothy in the Cary grant role would be a huge departure from his previous roles. He could do suave? He sure could do sexy and charming. I know if they did a remake likely clooney would be their number one choice...but seriously timothy has skill...anyone else see him in something like this?

I know if they did a remake likely clooney would be their number one choice...but seriously timothy has skill...anyone else see him in something like this? I could totally see him in that role, in a modern version... Also could imagine him in the William Holden role in The Bridge on the River Kwai...for action and adventure. as Jack Nicholson's character in many of his early roles, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? I'd really like to see him in a romantic role, loved what he did in Catch and Release, even tho it wasn't a great movie, it was a good character for him-- I want some romantic roles while he is still in his 40's. And I would pay to see the continuing story of Dick from High Life, what happens to he and Donnie after the prison years...? He could be great in the William Hurt role in Body Heat...I have seen that suggestion on this board before... What I don't want to see is another sheriff/cowboy/lawman...give that a rest for awhile, cannot top Raylan or Seth Bullock! I don't want to see him in a vampire movie or a zombie movie...enough of those out there... This may be a good topic to explore once Justified ends and we are mourning the loss...Thanks for the post!

I agree on lawmen...if he does it again, he should wait awhile. And he already did zombies in The Crazies. I would love to see him in something else Elmore. I thought I had heard at one point that he'd like to do Stick, which he'd be perfect for, as long as he did it soon. Of course, Hollywood is always making characters older or younger, and Elmore's estate would probably be willing to trust TO do just about whatever he wanted with it. It might be fun for him to do a bad guy. Not an over-the-top cartoon bad guy like in that Die Hard movie, but either a funny/crazy one or a real menace. The romantic comedy genre seems to have hit a low point...it would be nice for TO to start a revival. There are plenty of actresses he could have great chemistry with. I'd love to see him with Tina Fey again. They were great together. Eventually, though, I want him back on the small screen. More to love.

TV works for me. I would love to see his talent recognized by his peers. And by that I mean the Emmy people. I think if we get recognition this year Joelle will rightfully get attention as well as Walton. I fear timothy has been so subtle he just may be overlooked. Would be cool (unlikely based on our history) if we got best drama...as an executive producer he would be on stage and getting a statue...and my bet...he would be so thrilled!!!!

You have all given(s) me much to think about. I like the idea of him being the new Cary Grant. As for the Oliver Stone movie, I'm all for it, but just wonder how much screen time Timothy will get. And Stone is not famous for playing by the facts. If the only reason one watches is to see Tim, it really doesn't matter,I guess, but there is a reason that I rarely read historical fiction. I don't want conjecture or fantasy; I want the facts. I will watch the movie because it interests me and because I want to see Tim, but I would like it to be factual.
Now back to the Cary Grant thing. Tim can be so suave. I would love to see him in this type of role."To Catch a Thief," "Charade,"..how delightful!

Just an idea...not far fetched but.... Greys Anatomy took a bold move and killed half of the lead couple...namely Mcdreamy!!!! What would it hurt to cast sexy timothy as her new love interest? The money is great. The creator/writer is brilliant and the show is consistently in the top ten. Gives him work, exposure and money. Keeps him home! And..... So tell me what all you think?
