According to a 'tweet' from VJ Boyd, the S5 writer's room started yesterday. Woo hoo!!!!!
Now if only there were a place we could send them our ideas....

That's very good news! Let's get this show on the road!
I only hope for the birth of Raylan and Winona's baby- maybe an extra special sweet scene. Winona looked like she was about to pop last season.
Angsty Boyd- Ava behind bars? It won't be pretty, but it shouldn't be. Boyd's gonna open a can of whoop-ass.
More Raylan- preferably with a haircut. More Raylan - maybe once or twice without a shirt. Just more Raylan, please.

I am one who likes the longer hair...not the way it is now and less product...looks greased down and TO has great hair.
What about season 5: he is still in line for that promotion. I'd love for him to decide to stay and learn from Art. Like just about everyone I want that baby to be born and scenes of Raylan "learning shit about girls" in that Raylan way. I am looking forward to a more powerful Wynn Duffy and his battles with Raylan and his working with Boyd. Could be quite wild. I would like them to do a twisty tale of Ava and getting her free from jail...they need to make the marshals WIN one. Ava did in fact blow Delroy in half.....consequences....Done with: Ellen Mae, sadly Johnny seems to be gone, Cassie likewise. Time maybe for a love story for Tim. And we should meet the "surprise husband" of Rachel....
And I am still waiting on more about Frances Givens...there is so much more to her story...which would mean more Elston....heck...be a good twist if in fact Ava knows what happened to Frances and uses it to draw Raylan into a gut-wrenching back story....

I love Tim's long hair from pics this summer, but that just wouldn't cut it for the Marshall's service. I wish they'd just go back to his hair from season 1, so they don't have to use so much gel to slick it back. The problem with a promotion for Raylan might be no more Art. I love Art and he really plays off Raylan so well and provides a sort of father figure for Raylan. I'm wondering how that will work out. I would love to see more about Raylan's family history and his mother.

Season 5?
-The birth of Palmolive for sure. Got to see that, hopefully with Raylan arriving just in the nick of time.
-Wynn Duffy + Boyd is going to be VERY interesting and will put Boyd right into the cross hairs of the "Marshals Purview."
-As with last season, more Art, Tim, and Rachel. And now we can add in a little Constable Bob.
-A revisit or at least a check-in from one of the old criminals who are locked up: Dewey Crowe, Dickie Bennett.
-And Ava? What's going to happen with her? Prison visits with Boyd? Her trial? 13 episodes is not very long.
Kmmo, you mentioned a promotion for Raylan would mean no more Art. (Retired or dead or disabled.) I, too, hope that doesn't happen. Although I've long worried that to wratched up the drama ... one of the marshals could be killed in the line of duty ... including Tim or Rachel. If Boyd was involved and he was to cross that line ... there would be no more 'frenemy' for Raylan.
Is Winona in Florida? When the time comes and the series comes closer to a close, Raylan could be offered a promotion back in Florida.
I'd love to see Raylan's hair back more to the way it was in Season 1. And yes, Frances. The big mystery. It wold not be cool to
With Arlo dead and his house in the mix ... it would be great if a no-good relative came out of the wood work and tried to lay claim to that house.

But Raylan is his only son so the house is his...with all the bad memories. And the promotion could be offered and he chooses to stay and learn how to be a chief from the man he always respected and trusted. The end of the series could have him going to Miami or wherever Winona is and being named a chief...more desk less bang/bang. In short father material. We now know they are still very much in love....that was made so clear. Give us al least two or three more seasons and then bring the battle of Boyd and Raylan to a "bloody" conclusion with that fast draw Raylan reluctantly winning and leaving Harlan alive...to be with Winona and Palmolive.....win/win for us and Raylan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the house is his, but I'd play it for laughs for a long lost opportunist relative to show up and be a pain in Raylan's backside. We've all seen the kind who show up at funerals and lottery wins. And maybe a source of some more family information.

of course we are talking Arlo and I could seriously see him sticking it one last time to the man in the hat....even from the grave Arlo could be saying "kiss my ass." We all know Raylan wants the money so he can provide his child with a good life...because even with those pesky flaws...Raylan is a truly good man.

Or...we could find Arlo put the house in Frances' name and she could have a pesky relative that arrives wanting their share.

The writers cannot leave us out here hanging on that one.

Ya'll bring up good points. Arlo's comment about her not being St. Francis opens a lot of room for more story lines regarding Raylan's family. I also wonder how Raylan would be able to sell the house with the graves in front. I would not want to buy a house with someone elses graves in the front yard (that's probably not even legal).
Regarding Raylan's possible promotion, I just don't see Raylan as a chief. Behind a desk most of the time, having to deal with deputy marshall's personal problems and discipline... doesn't seem to be something he'd very good at. If his deputies won't be quiet, he can't exactly put them in the trunk, can he? Does he have the temperament to be a chief? I guess he could do it for Winona and the baby. I think Rachel would be better as chief. She seems to be a patient sort of person.

S5 idea...I think bringing in a story line re Frances could start something rolling...many people could be a part of it, Drew (Shelby) is in jail but could still provide info, as he seems to have known her...Limehouse could be related to a story here, even Ava knew Raylan's mother before she passed. And Constable Bob seems like he knows everyone's back stories and don't we want to see more of him... will Boyd blame Raylan for Ava's situation, since Raylan took Boyd away and left Ava to deal with the body (and get caught)? I don't see Boyd letting that drop. Is Dickie in Jail, or was he killed at Loretta's house, I was never sure? A little Dewey would be good, I agree. As for new troublemakers, maybe some of the hill people we met briefly know something Raylan should know about his mama. I'd like to see how Raylan spent his 30 days suspension, when the season starts, hoping it has something to do with Winona. Don't see him as chief, in the office, most of the time. let me think....Let me go look at that photo of TO at the Dodgers game for a little more inspiration....Later...

What can I possibly add? I think we all want the same things. We want to see the exploration of the Boyd/Duffy dynamic. We want to see what jail will be like for Ava and how Boyd will work to get her out. (I, personally, don't see her doing hard time. I think she may finally plead self-defense and get out on time served for abuse of a corpse. But I have been wrong before.) More people on Justified have defied sentencing than Carters has pills. Only Dewey and Dickie seem to be locked up for good. Btw, I agree that it would be nice to touch base with these two. They are just too good to be forgotten. It would be wonderful if they would be available for a few scenes.
Come on, writers. We want to see the baby! We can all read Raylan like a book when it comes to his job, his relationships, etc. But I would bet any amount of money that little Palmolive will bring out a side of him that we have never seen.
Art. I don't see Art leaving until the final season. As slowly as things move on this show, we could get a few more seasons out of Art for sure. He is the epicenter. He is the guiding force. Raylan may be able to take over for him eventually, but he has some growing to do and some demons to conquer before he can be in charge. He's a good marshal, but he is not ready to be Chief yet, imho.
If we don't find out more about Frances pretty soon, I am going to snatch myself bald. The writers drop all of these cryptic hints about her, but never any real facts. (I'm pretty sure that they don't know what to say. When they come up with a story line, we'll find out more.) It would be nice if this happened in season 5.
You all know that I love Constable Bob. This is a shout-out to Patton Oswalt: Make yourself available if you possibly can. You have lots of Justified fans.
As for Raylan: Get a decent haircut, babe. And take off your shirt whenever you can.

A man with a baby makes me want to turn and run. I was really pissed when Whinenona (see what I did there? WHINEnona? :-) ) got pregnant- I really hate her and that baby will tie those 2 together forever. Am I the only one who cant stand her? I can get behind the shirtless part though...

And I'm partial to babies, too. LOL. But Natalie Zea, who plays her, calls her the same thing. Although, I would think even you would have to admit she was pretty kick-ass in the finale, right? I'm glad the baby ties them together. They love each other. And while not everyone here shares my enthusiasm for the character and her relationship with Raylan, we are kind of protective of her (and NZ) here because of a lot of vicious stuff that went on at the FX site and other places a couple of years ago.

I'm glad the baby ties them together. They love each other. Well, I love babies (not that I want any more of those right now ) I really think that Winona is the woman that Raylan will always love. But sometimes that's just not enough. Yeah, Winona whines, she wants Raylan to be what he may not be able to be. I'd whine , too. I like her character because she seems to ground Raylan, to make him come down from the marshall super-guy pedestal. A baby would ground him even more, make him more tied to family and love. His character needs that.

Or...we could find Arlo put the house in Frances' name and she could have a pesky relative that arrives wanting their share. Lord, I hope not. Raylan needs a decent place to live. He's a US Marshall living in a dump above a bar, and that's an upgrade from the motel room. He needs to upgrade his life. He's going to be a father for God's sake. LOL.

kmmo, I agree that Raylan needs a family, and I mean a REAL family, not that deranged bunch of misfits who raised him. Maybe by the end of the series, he and Winona and the baby will have figured out how to make it work. The long distance thing doesn't lend itself to a sense of family. For now, all he has is his father figure, Art. Seeing him sitting alone outside the house at the end of season 4 was heartbreaking, I thought. He is so lonely.

From what I gather you don't just go from Deputy US Marshal to Chief Deputy US Marshal. The Titles I've found are: (source Wikipedia) Director of the United States Marshals Service: originally titled the Chief United States Marshal, top executive of the entire US Marshals Service.[13] United States Marshal: for the top executive Marshals Service position (political appointment) in a federal judicial district. Chief Deputy United States Marshal: the senior career manager for the federal judicial district who is responsible for management of the Marshals office and staff. Supervisory Deputy United States Marshal: for positions in the Marshals Service responsible for the supervision of three or more deputy U.S. marshals and clerks. (Guessing this will be Raylan's position in season 5.) Deputy United States Marshal: for all nonsupervisory positions classifiable to this series. Glad the writers are back at it. Just read an article with Jacob Pitts and David Meunier where they both say they do in fact start shooting in October. www.tvweb.com/news/exclusive-jacob-pitts-and-david-meunier-talk-dewey-crowe-and-justified-season-5And I don't want to think about the baby not being born in season 5. I just can't go there.
