I'd buy it if there were NO commentary. Gotta help the boys out and keep peanut butter on the Olyphant table.

Wow, that's a lot of commentaries. At least TO is doing one this season. Plus there is the "In Conversation: Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins," a making of season three video, out takes and potentially the "anatomy of a stunt" may feature TO. I'm guessing it will be the jaw dropper from Slaughterhouse. ..... Or you ladies may get the Raylan book version of the organ transplant bathtub scene of your fantasies. Anyway, I'll be buying the Blu-ray set even though I have the season on iTunes. I'd buy it if there were NO commentary. Gotta help the boys out and keep peanut butter on the Olyphant table. Also, thanks to okeydokey for the news.

I wish I could get the Blu-ray set, but like I said before, I don't have a blu-ray player. Speaking of that book, I just got past that part..

..... Or you ladies may get the Raylan book version of the organ transplant bathtub scene of your fantasies. Psh, i wish! I don't buy DVDs anymore. Which is sad because what I miss most about them are all the commentaries and "makings of". Maybe if I'm lucky they'll feature some of it on youtube or something.

I'm old school with my media. I like extras and the tactile experience. I thoroughly enjoy the smell of a book and the weight of a cd and peeling that freaking impenetrable seal thingy off the dvd.
I'll buy this. I buy everything. I realize it's cheaper to download or stream but it's all good. I like to have something physical, even if my media center begs me for relief.

alpha, I am of the same school as you are. There's nothing like holding the real, tangible thing in your hands. I sometimes download something and I have music on itunes, but for the most part, I'm old-school. Besides, the internet and all of our nifty new devices go goofy on us sometimes. I've been having trouble having an uninterrupted phone conversation with my one son for days now. We both need to move to newer iphones, but we've had more pressing things that we have had to pay for lately. He has, like many people, rid himself of a land line, so I have to put up with his phone problems.
I love having DVDs to play anywhere, anytime. I can watch on my family room DVD player or on my computer or in my bedroom. I love the flexibility of that. CDs? I can play them in my car, or in my family room which gives me sound through my downstairs, or in my office, which gives me sound through my upstairs. I don't feel the least bit deprived. I love turning paper pages, slipping CDs and DVDs into their respective players. When I go to the beach next summer, I can take a paperback as easily as a Kindle, and the paperback doesn't have to be protected from the sand and salt air.Plus, the price is competitive. And in many cases, I can get books from my remaindered catalogue for 4.95 or 5.95.
So, I will definitely get season 3 on a real honest to goodness DVD. (If I'm in a real odd mood , I can carry it around on my body and feel really close to Tim.) Okay, you can forget that I said that.

I like books and dvds, but for traveling it's wonderful to have all my media on the iPad. That's why I get Justified eps on iTunes. Thing is, I love having the DVDs, too...and with these extras I know I will end up buying them. So, essentially, I'm buying them twice. I guess that's silly on one level, but...I don't care. LOL.

I love the physical pleasure of DVDs and books etc. The added extra is that that I can stare at Tim's face on the cover.

I'm a buyer also. Except for books, which I get from the library!
Mondayschild, check your local or area libraries for book sales. You shouldn't have to pay that much for papersbacks to carry on airplanes. I never do.
However, after several bad experiences with iTunes deciding to delete all of my purchased music and amazon cloud refusing to transfer large parts of albums I have stored there, I have a slightly more geezer attitude than you young'uns.

I buy most of my books from charity shops and recycle them back when I have finished. I think the last brand new book I bought was the final Harry Potter book. Oops I forgot about Fifty Shades of Grey, which was a HUGE waste of money!

I stopped buying books and movies because I was on a mission to declutter my life. I had wayyyy to many books. I got rid of most of them, put the rest on ONE bookshelf, and vowed to only use the library from now on. Ditto with DVDs. I don't miss them. Whenever I want to watch something, I have a way to get a hold of it. But those damn special features.... Miss 'em.

alpha, I really admire you for taking a chance on a new career and for following your heart.I am from a different generation when options were more limited and we were expected to relegate our careers to the back burner if they interfered with our commitments to our husband or children. Many women were unhappy with this and tried to have everything, regardless .It has to be an individual decision, depending on your circumstances.
My teaching job (inner city) was very hard. I was involved with volunteer work that was really important to me. I knew that I couldn't balance three things well. I quit my teaching job to be a full time mom who did volunteer work. My husband was the sole breadwinner. We gave up a lot, but since our firstborn turned out to be a special needs child, it was the right decision.
When our first entered kindergarten, I thought I might be able to get back into the workforce. I became pregnant during the Three Mile Island situation in 1979. (My husband and I celebrated the "bubble"going down and got a baby.) He eventually became the joy of our lives, but he he definitely was a surprise.
We do what we have to do. We make decisions that make sense at the time. I m glad that you have a chance to move forward and I hope all goes well for you.

Monday, that is so sweet. Gave me the warm fuzzies. It's funny that you think of me as gutsy. I am terrified going into this new job. I'm gonna bite the bullet and try to change my situation so I can be happier, even if it means less money. I think you're pretty gutsy, taking on teaching inner city kids. It takes a special kind of person to teach children, and someone with steel in their spine to take on troubled or disadvantaged youth. Thank you for thinking of me and putting thought, time and energy into saying so. <3 I gotta get the guts up to travel, to leave home and see the world. That's really what I want to do. I wish I could take my parents with me! They're not getting any younger and I know they'd love to travel. My father works as a home provider/ direct support professional for a client with severe MR and has for nearly as long as I can remember. We've never taken a family vacation. He hasn't had a day off since I was 10 or so. I would love to hit the open road and experience the states with my family- my sister and her new baby and the 'rents. Ah, to dream. There'll never be enough money or time, but it's a goal I have.

Wow, alpha! About your dad....people who do this work are saints as far as I'm concerned. So much patience and caring is involved. Hope you and your folks get to travel some day soon.
'book, that price I listed for books is for hard-bounds, so it really is a savings. Our local hospital has a book fete every year--tables and tables of books, as far as the eye can see. But the crowds are horrific. I donate all of the books that I don't keep to them. My local library is in the city and there is just no place to park. My husband and I took our kids there on a regular basis when they were growing up because we all went through several books a week and it was just to costly to buy them all. Our library is the only source for some folks and it has become sadly underfunded. It breaks my heart, but they somehow keep going.

Here's an idea what you could do with the extra time since it's going to be a part-time job: become a writer! ;D

I didn't pre-order this season, so Amazon isn't notifying me. But when I checked out the release date on the site, I got Dec. 31. Am I living in an alternative universe? It's still too late for Christmas, but for anyone who has not recorded it, it would allow for catching up before season 4. (I can't believe I just wrote that. Can you remember when we we waiting to see if there would even be a season 2?)

The UK and surrounding areas generally get releases before the US does. One of those quirks of fate! I have a friend in London who shares my love of SATC. She always got everything way before I did.
