Hi everybody, my name is Christina. I'm in ... Germany. I hope you don't mind my funny English. I'm a huge fan of American TV shows. Lately, I've been watching more and more shows produced by HBO, FX etc. I think it all started with The Sopranos. As far as TO is concerned--I've seen quite a few movies that he's done, except I didn't realize this until a few days ago. lol The first time, I really took notice of his acting was on Damages. I really liked his character on Damages because it was conflicted. Anyway, I read an article on Justified in a German TV magazine saying it was one of the best shows on American TV at the moment and I though, hey, it's this guy from Damages. I liked him. Better check it out. I did and now I am hooked only on the show of course. Yeah right. BTW, is this the only active forum/board that exists? I couldn't find any other fan community ...

I might like to add that I only watched one episode of Deadwood when it still aired. But the idea of a Western show kind of turned me off. So I didn't continue after this one episode. I had heard though that it was supposed to be really good. Now I got quite some material to catch up with....

Go MCM! Gladyou're in charge, so to speak!
cschmo903. Welcome! Your English is excellent! I have some German ancestry so I'm sending a big hug!
Please watch Deadwood. You will really get to like it. Not an especially typical western!

bookperson39: Thanks for your kind words and big hugs right back to you! To tell you the truth I was only born in Germany and I do not have any German ancestors because my folks are originally from Eastern Europe. I'm glad they are not from Bulgaria, because Tim hates Bulgaria. lol I just wish my listening comprehension was better because sometimes I will only understand 80% of the dialog on Justified. (Good excuse for watching it again.... haha) I like the sound of the Southern accent, but it makes it even harder for me to comprehend. However, I refuse to watch it in German (in Germany all foreign TV shows and movies are dubbed, I totally hate that). The whole Southern flavor is lost in translation and I just luuurve TO's voice. I realized that Deadwood was meant as a more "realistic" western or something. Including lots of swearing. It's kind of strange that I didn't give it a second chance because I usually do.

Welcome Christina! It's good to have you with us and your English is superb. The only other forum for Justified that I know of is the FX site but I haven't really looked so someone here could probably point you in the right direction. We all love TO here and welcome any and all to share.

Welcome, Christina! Your English is just fine. (I'm of German ancestry, but don't know more than a few German words.) I applaud you for being bi-lingual.
I LOVED Timothy on Damages. That's where I first fell in love! As for Deadwood: are you aware of the history of Deadwood? It was a real gold rush town in the 1880's and beyond. Sheriff Seth Bullock was a real person. The town of Deadwood still exists. This was what I found fascinating... knowing that the series was based, at least in part, on fact. It made the characters so much more interesting for me.
If you can get a boxed set of Deadwood, it is the best way to go. There is a lot of great commentary on the discs that would fill you in on the people who lived in Deadwood and what the community was really like. I found these commentaries to be fascinating.
Again, it's nice to have you with us!

Welcome Christina! I found TO in the Girl Next Door and I loved his character so much I fell in lust right away. I have to admit, I forgot about him until I am Number 4 came out and I was like, "Who is this Henri guy? He looks so familiar. I'm strangely attracted to him even though he's much too old for me." So I pulled up the IMDB and it hit me. Henri is that hot LeMans driving porn producer from TGND. And, he was that hot guy in Perfect Getaway. And Hitman. It was at that point I was hooked and there was no hope I'd ever get away. I think I own or have seen everything he's ever been in-- except High Incident, which I can't seem to find.
I love that TO's talent/hotness transcends all boundaries. Can't we all just get along and agree that TO is the best looking human being on the planet? We can? Ok, then. And just like that, TO= world peace.

"And just like that, TO= world peace." That really cracked me up. haha. Thanks for your kind words! Now, as for the age thing -- I'm coming from like the opposite direction, I had thought, oh no, another crush on an actor/ a singer who is much younger. But then I found out that he is actually one year older than my husband. lol And I was like, yay! How cool is that. I could talk with that guy about the 80s! Not that I will ever get to talk with him...

Like in one interview he mentions that way back in his swimming days he was traveling with a swimmer to some contest and the guy was from "West Germany". That is what Germany was called pre-1989. lol

I just answered the "Meeting Famous People" thread and Which made me scan in some old photos. Somone wrote to me and asked me how I look so young so I think I owe you guys a recent picture. I only have ones with my spousal unit in them. First, the good old days: Early '00's: And finally something more recent: To quote Dickie Bennett "My how the mighty have fallen" LOL. Ah well, time marches on...

The one where the drummer and I both have the long hair is my favorite. His is so much better than mine. We used to have a convertible hot rod and we went for a drive with 2 other long haired musicians and it was like a comedy video with all the hair blowing around.

Love the pictures MCM. I love to see a couple who look so happy together - especially couples who have been together as long as the two of you. Neither of you seems to have changed that much. Do you guys have a picture in the attic? You look great!

MCM, Great pic! There's a lot of love in your home. I have the EXACT same coffee table you have! Do you have the side table and sofa table (that I actually use in the foyer), too? And I almost have the same sofa. Same espresso color, same style, leather. I also use that same green as my accent color in my living room. Your house looks so 'Zen.' Love it! You have great taste!

First of all, I hardly remember when my house was ever as tidy as it seems to be there. I'm sure that was after some paid assistance.
Dolphin, that coffee table the last piece of Y2K furniture from a contemporary furniture store. I have the end tables in the basement now. The end tables I have now are art moderne / art deco from the 1930s. My dining room table is a signed Donald Desky, if anyone knows who that is. We kind of went on a classical Miami era art deco buying frenzy 1999-2002. I have a huge 4' x3' original acrylic piece of art from Giancarlo Impigila- the guy who did the absolute vodka ads. All sorts of neat objects to be demolished by foster dogs.
So needless to say I have nowhere for that signed Justified poster. I guess it will have to go in my bedroom with the other one. *Sigh*
Funny thing is; in our old house I had cowboy and southwest stuff. Go figure. My other house that I rent out is a colonial. I redid it completely in Medium Cherry and warm tones, so I'm sort of eclectic.
My spousal unit is the artistic one when it comes to decorating. He's never happier than when he's helping me spend my money on some interesting piece. LOL.
PS- ther'e a lot of love ( and muddy footprints) in any house that had a good doggy..or two....

I meant to ask, MCM, which one of your dogs is that in the pic? Or is that a foster dog? You're lucky with your SO. My husband is good about shopping for new furniture, in fact he picked out our leather couch, but he would break out in hives if I took him on an 'accessory buying' trip. We have an eclectic decorating style, too. I have some antiques including a desk and a gorgeous Flatback that is probably handmade. Our coffee table is an old oak dining table my dad bought when he was in college and cut the legs down. It's massive, but it fits in our big room and goes surprisingly well with the modern leather couch and mock-suede doggy bed.
