Some of it I find mildly amusing but nothing has really got me laughing so far. Which I find odd because I liked Larry David's SNL episode he hosted a couple years ago, and his Bernie Sanders impression always cracks me up. Maybe I will skip ahead a few seasons and see if I like CYE any more.
I don't think I've ever watched an entire episode of Seinfeld, I was too young for it when it was originally aired and I don't think I've ever seen more than a couple minutes at a time of it.

I don't think I've ever watched an entire episode of Seinfeld, I was too young for it when it was originally aired and I don't think I've ever seen more than a couple minutes at a time of it. I recommend it (especially starting in season 3 or 4 when it picked up steam) but it has a very distinct style of humor. George Costanza is largely based on Larry David and his ridiculous reactions to everything. It's really brilliant. I would try watching some of that but I don't think it's streaming anywhere, though it's surely in syndication wherever you live. I'm trying to watch The Blacklist because I love James Spader but I cannot get through it. It's everything wrong with network drama in my opinion, it's way behind peak TV and what the cable and streaming networks are doing in terms of quality of writing and performance. The female lead is sooooo bland. I've pushed myself through five episodes and I think I'm giving up...

Wow, Kaitlyn Dever's career is blowing up, as it should. Her new Netflix series looks amazing. Based on a true story. Loretta is one of my absolutely favorite characters on Justified and she is talented enough to win an Oscar one day.

Wow, Unbelievable is incredible. It's a difficult subject but it's a must watch. And it was co-created/written by Susannah Grant who did Catch & Release. 10 stars. You can tell it was completely created by women - fantastic.
Oh and Nick Searcy is in it too!

I just finished watching the pilot for The Unicorn. Really funny and great acting all around but Walton really shines. CBS put it up on their website a week ahead of time.

Finally watched Surviving R. Kelly - it's on Netflix now. OMG. I was glued to the screen from start to finish. I can't believe this monster and how his career continued for years despite what was known about him.

Amazon annouced the release date for Jack Ryan Season 2 with a new trailer the other day. November 1st is when it will go live. As a side note, I've been watching Curb Your Enthusiasm lately but I just don't get it. I've only seen like 6 episodes so far but I'm not sure I get all the hype about the show. And the camera work is really throwing me off, it just seems like it has no budget and was shot with 1 camera guy who was holding a fancier version of a camcorder. I really wanted to like the show but I struggle to get through it. Is it like The Office or Parks and Recreation where it took the a season or two to hit their stride? Time flies and Jack Ryan is back!!! Yay!!!

I'm on episode 4 right now. So good. And so far, no Abbie Cornish. 🙌

Those people clearly have no taste, or have to have a show with some romance. 🙄 She and John didn’t really even have any chemistry so I don’t get what they are upset about. I could get behind the Cathy Mueller love affair if they got a better actress for it but she was seriously so terrible in season 1.
I have to say, I like seeing more of Matice but I’m already sick of the assassin, he needs to go.

She was just the worst. Glad we don't have to put up with her and that inconsistent accent.
I'm loving this season and that they went in a completely different direction. Given the CIA's history in Latin America, it's very topical.

I finished Jack Ryan yesterday, I can't wait for season 3. It was a little predictable but then I think all big action shows like that are. I liked that season 2 didn't continue with more terrorism in the Middle East as its big storyline, it was a nice change up to go with South America, especially since Venezuela is in economic crisis right now, it was still relevant in todays climate.
I wonder what country/topical issue they will go with next? I hope we continue to get quality content and that they don't cancel after 3 seasons. I'm not as familiar with the Prime originals so I don't know if Amazon is as quick to cancel things as Netflix is (I'm still bitter about SCD). I read somewhere that they will have a new show runner for season 3.
I also am half way through Unbelievable on Netflix. Holy cow is it good! I had to stop myself from starting another episode tonight or I would have just kept going until I finished all of it. I know what I will be doing tomorrow night. I haven't seen Nick Searcy yet but the guy who played Sheriff Hunter Mosely is also in it as Marie's former foster dad.

I hope it didn't come out too soon. I fear it will be forgotten by the time next year's Emmy noms come out. I just watched Seth Meyers' stand up special on Netflix. I had no idea he was actually a stand up who did shows. I was laughing from start to finish. Great self-deprecating humor and his timing and delivery were perfection, naturally. Highly recommend!

Lobby Baby is on my list as well, hopefully I will get to it sometime this week. My college roommate was obsessed with Seth Meyers and has seen him live. She said he does a great show so I’m looking forward to his special. Seth is my favorite late night host after Conan. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is how political his show has gotten although I do love the segment Jokes Seth Can’t Tell.

Hah, his special has a "skip politics" feature! You can actually skip the seven-minute section he talks about politics.

So I keep seeing tweets saying how much The Mandalorian sounds like and sometimes walks like Timothy Olyphant in Deadwood. I kind of just figured these tweets were coming from the same people who think Tim and Josh Duhamel are the same person or can't tell them apart (smh, they really look nothing alike). But I watched an episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+ last night and was surprised by how much Pedro Pascal sounds like and walks like Tim in Deadwood. I'm not into Star Wars at all and really don't care about The Mandalorian so I probably won't watch but it is worth checking out to hear Pedro Pascal's uncanny resemblance to Tim.

Hah earlier today I read someone comparing it to Justified - apparently they're calling it Justified with blasters. I can't see the resemblance to Tim or Deadwood/Justified at all, though I'll see if I can spot any during the next episode.
But I LOVE LOVE LOVE Baby Yoda. So cute.

I could hear it in his voice sometimes, not every time he spoke but there were definitely a couple times where I thought his voice sounded very similar to Tim in Deadwood. And a couple of times there was a stiffness to his walk that reminded me of Seth Bullock too. I wasn’t all the time but there were moments. I did see that article, I don’t know that I would go as far as to compare it to Justified though.
Baby Yoda was super cute. If I keep watching it will just be for him.

Oh I'm definitely just watching for Baby Yoda at this point. I'm not enthralled by the plot yet. It's hard to get attached to the main character when you can't see his face.
I'm about to watch The Irishman that finally came out on Netflix.

Just watched the fourth episode. It's getting more interesting though still a little predictable. I still cannot see or hear any resemblance to Tim's walk or voice. I actually can't stand the Mandalorian's voice. Something about the synthetic effect I assume they added to his voiceover of his lines. I don't know why, but it's so grating on my ears! I think it's that subtle hoarseness to it that makes people think of Tim.

I watched the first two episode today, actually watched and not just half paid attention like I did earlier in the week. I think you are partly right about the subtle hoarseness making people think he sounds like Tim. Upon watching the first episode there were only a small handful of times where I could hear a similarity to Tim, otherwise for the most part I didn't hear it. Last week I was thinking it was Seth Bullock but it is actually Hitman where I think the similarities lie. I even went back and watched a little bit of Hitman to compare. Tim lowers his voice for some of his dialogue in that and it gets a little raspier when he does that and there isn't as much inflection in his voice in Hitman as say Justified, although he's got a Southern accent in that so it is hard to compare, or when he's just being Tim. I think when Tim is doing things that he doesn't have as much confidence about (like Deadwood) or doesn't really want to do (Hitman) he loses some of the inflection in his voice. The Mandolorian has that low raspy voice and at times has no inflection, I can hear similarities but they aren't exactly the same. If The Mandolorian and Agent 47 were to say the exact same line of dialogue in their low raspy voices I think I would be able to tell who's who but it may take a couple of listens first.
I watched an interview with Pedro Pascal on youtube, if I didn't know he was the voice of the Mandolorian I wouldn't even guess that he plays him.
As for the walk, The Mandolorian tends to walk with his back ramrod straight and there are couple of scenes were he doesn't move his arms much when walking which is what reminds me of Seth Bullock.
Two episodes in, I'm not enthralled with the plot but baby Yoda is too cute for words. Will probably keep watching but won't make it a priority to keep up with it. Spent the weekend snowed in at my parent's watching Hallmark Christmas and college hockey so I didn't get to catch up on anything new like I had intended.

I just bingewatched episodes 1 through 3 of The Servant on Apple+ TV. Wow, it's so good. It's created by M. Night Shyamalan. It's super creepy and spooky, not in a horror way (yet). Highly recommend. So good I'm going to rewatch before the next episode comes out this week.
I wish we had some new stuff with Tim!

I wish we had some new stuff with Tim! No date yet but HBO put out the new teaser for Curb Your Enthusiasm, sometime in January it will start airing. Hopefully Tim's episode will be early on in the season.
