On one level thrilled! On the other....looking at the drama category I miss seeing any reference to Justified. Timothy, walton, nick and Joelle all deserved recognition for six grand years! By the way to Rob Lowe did get a golden globe nomination for Grinder!

While I am happy for any recognition TO gets, I think it is laughable and pitiful that during 6 years of Justified he garnered so little attention from the various award shows, while this very silly role on the Grinder, which consisted of him taking his shirt off numerous times, gets him a nomination. We all know he can be funny, but he really shines in drama. Also, there are just too many shows on too many sources/networks, for it to make sense to pick just 6 in any one category! In my humble opinion...

Could not agree more! And sadly the timer on recognition for Justified is winding down. The drama series really are poor excuses compared to our beloved Justified!!!!!!!

Seems the exact period for eligible series...June 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015. Wtf!!!! Justified aired jan-april 2015. They never had a chance?

You are right coco13, The CCA did recognize the last season of Justified, and the actors. The only award show that did, unfortunately.
Not sure how I feel about the nomination for TO in Grinder. It was writen as such a silly/shallow role. But TO was very funny. Hope to see nominations for TO in his upcoming films next year.

It would have been nice to have seen Justified, and all those involved, receive much more recognition during it's 6 seasons. I haven't seen The Grinder but any reviews I've read were very complimentary to TO.

The irony is he is nominated for being Timothy Olyphant!!!!!!!! Yet they missed his incredible Raylan givens performances. Gosh I miss that deputy marshal!

Yes, that's my point, ripetebook. He's played so many wonderful characters, and he get's nominated for playing TO. Ha! Got to love it, I guess.

If you can watch this award show, don't forget, it is on this weekend, the 17th, I think, on USA? I will try to see it, don't have cable, so I'll need to get out of the house to find access...but I am wondering, will TO attend? Is this the show where the winners know ahead of time and are likely to be present? I don't know. Anyway, it is a crime that they nominate him for this silly show (that I like) and not for the genius that was contained in Justified! Right?
edit...my mistake, it is on A&E network.

Also lifetime is carrying the show. Watch the preshow if possible. Last year many Justified cast was there and Sam Elliott was interviewed and won. Grinder likely will get plenty of press and he could be there....I just really want to hear an acceptance speech!!!!!

Think yes to that "do they know in advance if they won?" Reason is they gave out two awards in the preshow....animation film was Inside out and the winners were right there! Then guest star drama.....our beloved Margo for Good Wife!
Thought maybe I spotted our Timothy....but don't quote me.

HE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it was an off stage announcement! We were cheated! No darn speech! And we know it would have been fun.

Have to ask...is anyone else really angry at the Critics, a&e, or lifetime? Seriously I flipped off the awards after he won....if no acceptance speech...they could have had Timothy (as comedy guest) and Margo (as guest drama). Considering their wonderful Justified association it would be so fitting!!!!! Just saying!!!!!!!!

Considering their wonderful Justified association it would be so fitting!!!!! Just saying!!!!!!!! Yeah, I am pretty bummed...I watched after they announced his win, hoping maybe to see him in the crowd...Margo was there, even tho her award was also off stage. If he was there, I did not see him. I watched the red carpet part too, something I don't usually do...those "reporters" were for the birds, too much gushing... Hated the host, what a fricking waste of time he was...and who let Amy Shuman go one for ten minutes, thanking everyone she ever knew, in a kind of a pointless exercise. Most Valuable Player! please! I saw Trainwreck, strictly because the movie I wanted had closed...it had some funny moments and some charming moments, but mostly kind of blah. Hardly an award winner, in my view. But I know, I am not her target audience. Wish I had seen Grandma, with Lily Tomlin. Also, they could have had Walton and TO as presenters...that would have been worth watching I think! I bet they would have killed... I think the problem is too many awards, too many shows/movies, too many networks, too many short term programs, too many on cable only... at the least they should have one award show for tv and one show for films...IMO. Nice to see Walton...that table was front and center, expected that film to win more...I have to say there were many nominations for shows I have never heard of before tonight. I guess award shows are kind of a unique animal...all these folks falling all over themselves about how wonderful they all are...It's just a job, right? and we watch....and it is a goofy system when TO gets recognition for this silly Grinder role and almost none for 6 years of Justified, a far superior effort. Just guessing, but maybe TO stayed away to watch the Denver/Pittsburg NFL playoff game, rather than get dressed up and hang out there for 3 or 4 hours! MCM, thanks for that lovely Raylan at the top of the page...wonderful!

First thanks mcm...isn't that Raylan in prison talking to dickie in an attempt to find dewey? Or maybe who is selling drugs as related to Boyd?
The more award shows the more I resent the bad treatment of Timothy! They had time to present all the awards if they cut the Amy crap! Don't get all the hype about her!
Let's hope Fox mentions his win! Take credit?

tvline.com/2016/01/17/critics-choice-television-awards-winners-2016-full-list/I'm with the rest of you in thinking that the win is the fickle finger of fate award in lew of Justified being largely ignored. In years past, it was television only awards on a week night and Film awards seperate; this is why we got to SEE Sam Elliot win last year for best guest in a Drama. Funny that Margo got to accept her guest in a drama award on the red carpet entry but the comedy award was announced in the break by william Shatner, probably because Tim chose not to attend. I guess if you've got to win a consolation prise it's cool to get it announded by Captaian Kirk, anyway. Any one check out poor Walton Goggins at the Hateful Eight Table??? Geeze, how many time will he be overlooked? ITS A TRAVESTY THAT GOGGINS HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED AS AN ACTOR REPEATEDLY. *MAD* (Spellchecker is FUBAR again)

Almost feels like the stars of Justified just keep getting screwed....it was ironic how many times the camera focused on Walton. My bet is Timothy was told it would be off camera and he decided not to bother....too many great football games this past weekend! Margo enjoys award shows more...after decades in the business she has garnered so many awards since Justified! We were lucky for Margo, Jeremy and Sam.
Hope this award gives the Fox people reason to give him more work....be it Grinder episodes or.......

Or is there some charity tennis event going on in January...? That would be another reason he may not have appeared. They gave away a lot of those awards off camera...seems unfair to the winners, sort of like being second class, not worth putting on the air live? But the show might have been 4 hours plus if everyone appeared on the stage...more reason to have tv awards on one show and movie awards on another.
