It is interesting that the two characters have a totally different view of their relationship. Boyd continues to remember their friendship when they worked the mines. He sometimes tries to reconnect with Raylan as a friend. Raylan never does. I notice that he NEVER treats Boyd as a friend. Oh, he might acquiesce once in a while--like when Boyd saves his life or gives him super-important information. But on the whole, Raylan treats Boyd just like any other criminal.
Boyd can get snarky with Raylan if Raylan invades his private space, i.e., his relationship with Ava, but on the whole, he would like Raylan to treat him as a fellow traveler in the journey of life. Not so, Raylan. Even though Boyd could have taken Raylan out any number of times, he hasn't. Raylan says that if Boyd crosses him, he'll take him down. I think Raylan will have a hard time doing it, but he will if necessary, as in the season one premiere.
I don't know if Boyd doesn't consider himself a criminal or what. But Raylan does. It complicates the relatonship.

Good summation on the Raylan/Boyd characters; but the little piece of Fan Art in question ( above) is commenting on the Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins, the Actors, not the characters. I think the commenter/artist is spot-on in her assessment actually. It's that he/she summarized it with such sarcastic wit that impresses me.

I agree. That's pretty damn funny! And let me just say, I love them both in her characterizations of them. Two totally different styles in two such lovely people.

If he's serious about "fucking the people at home" he can start in Saginaw, Michigan.

book, I read your comment about ten minutes ago and I'm still laughing. There are actually tears running down my face.
mcm, you're right. I misinterpreted the take on WG and TO. (Wait. I have to try to stop laughing at book's comment again. I am easily amused, but damn, that was funny.)
Anyway, I keep remembering the discussion with the cast and crew where Walton was going on and on and Timothy didn't want anything personal discussed. It was kind of telling. Every time I've ever seen Walton he has been really chatty.
I really should read these posts when I am awake. There have been so many extra things going on in my life lately that I'm always in a constant state of needing sleep. ZZZzzzz.

Bookperson39, He'd never make it to the Midland/BayCity/Saginaw airport because I'd jump on him and cling to him like a barnacle when he got off the plane in Detroit. He couldn't possible make it to the puddle jumper......
LOL.

motorcitymade thinks I got him a ticket that would take him through Detroit. heh heh
And here I thought she was so smart.
ALL roads lead to Saginaw. And me. In my negligee. With tassels on the bra.
Shoot! I'll bet he's on his way now. I'd better pick up the pizza crusts and find something for David to do for a while......

Hey, bookperson, it's almost time for football to start. A good distraction!
I'm pretty sure I could waltz in with all of the Chippendale dancers and the husband would be clueless, on any given Sunday, lol.

I saw that cartoon on tumblr (I'm drunk, forgive me... there's only so much the spell check button can do for me, lol!). I'ts hilarious. There's a blogger, deputygivens, who loves TO but is constantly verbally abusing him and it's incredibly funny. But yeah, Tim really does suck at interviews, lol. I thought he had improved lately, but then that youtube video of the voice he did in Modern Warafre (is that the name?)... he's so random! I can't stop watching him.

LOL The only reason he would have to hitchhike to Saginaw would be because the dang Metro Airport cancels every flight there but the last one of the night!
We get no respect.
Shhhhh I think he just rang the doorbell.........gotta run!

I can't believe this is still going on and I am still laughing out loud at this estrogen fueled insanity. I can tell you he'd never show up where I live. This place is d-e-a-d. We have a small airport 45 minutes away; other than that you have to fly into BWI. He'd never make it here from there without having a brain hemorrhage. The traffic is insane. On second thought, Philly might work.

I'm sure you guys know I'm referencing that Simon and Garfunkel tune "America" about the couple traveling around America.
"There 's a line in that song "It took me 4 days to hitch-hike from Saginaw",
which is very clear, it come right before the chorus. Check it out on Itunes if you can't remember it.
Oh, and by the way, I real life, I get excited when the UPS man knocks on my door...LOL....My UPS man has a Good attitude, unlike Arlo's....LOL
I just keep ordering things out of catalogs I do not need...maybe I'll bet that roomba next...LOL.

Sorry, been stewing on this a while and I have to comment. While I agree that the comic is funny in its exaggeration of a stereotype I really don't think TO and WG are that different.
They are both consummate professionals but regardless of WG's resume I think TO is a little further down the fame road than Walton. Wait until WG has three kids who are 'aware' and are out and about. I'm betting he will become less 'chatty'.
Ironically, TO does so much under the radar charity stuff, and WG is kind of 'methody', that I would characterize TO as the more approachable one of the two. TO listens and observes more than he talks and that is part of what makes him a great actor and shouldn't be confused with 'f*** the people at home'. OK, vented, I'm better now.
