I'm diving in, now. First up: Hand of God. Excellent cast. UPDATE: Dark, heavy. A little too dark and heavy for me. Next? Red Oaks.

'Red Oaks' is a 1/2 hour sitcom. Sophomoric, mindless. Pilot sets the series. Not terrible.
Next: 'The Cosmopolitans.'
UPDATE: 30 minute sitcom. I didn't get it.

This latest round of pilots has not impressed me>>>from the last round, I watched Transparent..., I found the lead actor, Jeffrey Tambour, quite interesting and thoughtful...but I found all the behaviors of all the other characters in his family quite disturbing. Particularly his 3 children. I really liked the one with Titus Welliver, but has that been filmed? This latest round of pilots has not impressed me.

I subscribe to TV Guide. There are very few new entries that have grabbed my attention. I'm going to look at a few of them, but let's just face it. I'm waiting for Justified. I'll always watch Parenthood, The Good Wife, SVU, Castle, (I am in love with Nathan Fillion,) and a couple of cable offerings, but I'm holding out for Raylan.
Over the summer, I have been following Manhattan, which I wish I could figure out. The premise is fascinating, but I don't know how much if it is truth and how much is historical fiction. ( I hate historical fiction. I want the truth, please.) Outlander is compelling, but I have to look away during the really violent stuff. The story is wonderful, but the violence is not for the faint of heart.

It took a while for me to get into it, but I must say . . . by the end of the first season, I was at ease with each of the characters. The kids each went on a freaky wild ride in response to their father's admission. I felt that by the last episode, the grown kids had come full circle . . . had landed. But yes, they were each WAY out there. Very unlikeable.
