An excerpt is on IMDB. It is great! thanks, Weegie. I can tell you that on the two occasions that I attend his lecture, Elmore heaped praise on Timothy Olyphant. He really appreciated how he brought Raylan to life. He wanted to write more Raylan into the book he was working on when he passed, but his agent told him not to because of the legal entanglements of optioning various material. When I got meet him and get him to sign Raylan, I told him to 'fuck the agent' and do what he wanted his age. LOL.

He strikes me as someone who would do what he wanted to do, regardless of the agent or anyone else! Let's hope there is more Authentic Raylan from Elmore in that last unfinished book. That was a nice article!

Nope, he didn't get that far, but Peter Leonard, a fine author in his own right, is rumored to be finishing the book for him. who knows if Raylan will appear.

mare, here's my take on this. Elmore was a legend at this point. Anything he did would have probably been great. Age brings with it certain inalienable rights and he should have been allowed free rein, agent or no agent.
A few years ago I was in the grocery store looking over the selection of fat free frozen yogurts. A lady was nearby who was looking at the Haagen Dasz.I remarked that I would love to be able to eat that and she said that she was looking for a treat for her 89 year old mother who was in a nursing home, but she wasn't supposed to eat anything so decadent. I told her to go ahead and buy it and let her mother eat the whole damned thing if she wanted to; she had earned it. I think Elmore had earned the right to do things his way too.
