walton teases S5 in an EW interview
In the meantime, we have season 5 of Justified to look forward to. Give us a tease. I did a scene last night [Oct. 21] — we didn’t wrap until 1 a.m. — and it was a scene that will forever change the way that I see Boyd Crowder. It was something that was not planned, as these things often are. So I’m on the other side of that and really thinking about him and who he is. He’s a man who ended last season with his fiancée going off to prison. She’s collateral damage for the person that he is in truth. And he’s rendered impotent by it. And he is going to lash out in ways that I think will be surprising to the audience because they’ve definitely been surprising to me. He’s a man cornered, and I think that Boyd is seeing a side of himself that he chooses not to look at in the mirror. So I’m really excited about it.

Great tease! The hair on the back of my neck is standing up. Can't wait. I wonder if Wynn Duffy might fell his wrath first...those closest to you...etc.
Do we know if boyd has a side kick this year?
LJ- do you mind if I copy that tease to IMDB?

It used to be hell over there- That fan frau troll from FX was a regular. Finally they banned her IP address and miraculously about 15 different users stopped posting. LOL amazing! Thankfully IMDB also redacted all of her post and any thread that contained anything that so much as mentioned an alleged affair, etc. So, it's nothing but a bad memory now.
I didn't even start over there until after she was gone. It's not as bad as boards such as The Walking Dead or Dexter, but that's because a few folks over at the Justified board kind of self-police it. If most are respectful it kind of raises the bar- like here- so you should have a good time over there.

Wow, there is so much that can be read into that statement. I figured Boyd would be a 'new kind of crazy' in season 5, but now I'm wondering just how crazy he's going to get.

Walton is an amazing actor. I don't usually watch SOA because it's so dark, but I've watched the last couple of episodes, just because of Walton. He's getting rave reviews for his performance, as usual.

Here is some more to add on to this from TV Guide. And it looks like the end of this show is truly nigh. Is it too early to ask for some Justified scoop? — Caleb[/] ADAM: Nope, and according to series star Walton Goggins, it may soon be too late! Goggins tells us that, as executive producer Graham Yost has hinted, the show is treating its fifth season as the beginning of the end. "We're all looking at it as 26 episodes, not 13," Goggins says, noting that he thinks that the sixth season will be its last. "I am looking at this as the longtail of my Justified experience. We're laying the groundwork for that." As for what Goggins' Boyd Crowder will be up to in the wake of his wife's arrest in last season's finale, it doesn't sound pretty. "He's angry and he feels impotent. If he can't break through that glass ceiling, he's going to shatter it with his bullets," Goggins says. "He is in a place of volatility... that he's never been before in his life, and he's acting out in ways that I could not have foreseen."

Oh. I get heart palpitations just thinking about it. I was in a funk for WEEKS after the Friday Night Lights finale...I can't imagine what this one will be like.
Sounds like Boyd is going off the deep end.

Sounds like Boyd is going off the deep end. Seems so and he's only talking about the 2nd episode. I think Boyd is supposed to contrast Raylan's quiet rage. Plus they'd have to get Boyd to a certain place so that it would be plausible for Raylan and the Marshal's to go after him.

He's going to have to do something despicable for that to change. Do you think maybe one of the marshals will be a casualty?

They have spent 3 or maybe 4 seasons showing us the bonds...the similar childhoods, the uses for guns, etc. Maybe in this season we will see how rage is their difference. Raylan's is controlled and Boyd's won't be. Maybe controlled isn't it...contained is more. But we have seen Boyd go off....think how he responded as he found Ava in the sheriff's car...rewatch as he flies into a rage. Then rewatch (I know so much rewatch...ha ha ha) Raylan as he discusses with Art what needed to be done to protect Winona...and how he kept his cool with Nicky...that is the big difference between these two men. And how Raylan can put his head on the pillow and sleep and how Boyd can...but in such different ways.....January can not come fast enough.

Do you think maybe one of the marshals will be a casualty? [/quote] A dead marshal would definitely be the beginning of the end for Boyd. I don't think Boyd has ever killed a woman, only ordered someone one else to kill a woman. So I would not be surprised if that snake toting pastor's sister catches his wrath, since she was part of the set-up that put Ava in jail. Whatever he does, it would have to be something he's never done before, and he's killed a few men over the course of the show.

I think Cassie left town after making sure Boyd saw her and knew she was behind Ava's arrest. But if she stays...they may increase the Tim/Cassie thing and we know Tim seeks revenge....They say Ava will be imprisoned thru episode 4....leaves time for Boyd to go off the deep end. I would say he kills the sheriff, the funeral home guy, those who wronged him...and stole from him..his life aka AVA. I do think they will keep Raylan and Boyd on different courses until that momentus moment when they come face to face. I do not see Boyd blaming Raylan at all....but if Boyd pulls a stunt on a marshal...I do see Raylan...maybe showing rage...gun-wise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
