Here's an article on TO's narration of 3 episodes of an series on The Wild West. There's a clip at the end of the article where you can hear his golden tones. (I wasn't sure where to post this ... if there's another folder, let me know and I'll move it.) timothyolyphant.siterubix.com/2013/07

thanks for the info, missed this the first time around. Loved hearing the narration on that sample piece, sounds like Raylan, not Tim, is speaking!

thanks for the info, missed this the first time around. Loved hearing the narration on that sample piece, sounds like Raylan, not Tim, is speaking! It does sound more like Raylan than Tim. There is also a new video of TO goofing around with a sportscaster at the Dodgers game that may have been added to that same site since you posted the link, Dolphin. It's a fun video. Thanks! Edit: Oops! I see you gals have been discussing that video on another thread for several hours.

Thanks for that Dolphin these programmes haven't shown over here on NG Wild....yet, I am forever hopeful! His voice is lovely and suits the subject matter so well.

The Raylan voice....
What story or text would you like for Tim to read you IN THE RAYLAN VOICE.
Wouldn't it be fun to hear a weather report in the Raylan voice?
Or a Louis Lamore Novel?
Or a Famous Political Speech?
Now I'm cracking up now thinking about Tim IN THE RAYLAN VOICE reading Fifty shades of Grey. LOL

That would definitely make Fifty Shades so much more "interesting"!

Thanks, Dolphin. I haven't had a chance to see this program yet. He does sound like Raylan here. He does a very good job of narrating this. He could read me a bedtime story in the Raylan voice, or any voice he wants to use.

I don't have the NG channel ... so maybe they will come out on Instant Download ... somewhere. That's why I was thrilled to find a clip.

It sounds even more cowboy to me than Raylan. It being The Wild West special, I guess he's running with it!

Loved his narration. Am still feeling the "rejection" from the Emmy ass.holes. Seriously he was so much better than many on that "winning" list.

just got back from my mom's where I could watch the Nat Geo Wild channel to see/hear The Wild West. 3 episodes narrated by TO. I don't have cable right now. I saw a preview so I heard a bit already and thought TO often sounded a lot like Raylan was speaking this narration. I think that made it more fun to listen to...I think I learned more about banana slugs, walruses and octopus than I really wanted to know. But, it held my attention. Quite a bit about the mating habits of some species as well, told in an entertaining manner. If you have a chance to watch it, it's great to hear that voice!

I found this, I don't know what episode it was but it was gory and fascinating and he definitely used his Raylan accent for it.

Weegie, thank you SO MUCH for posting the video. There was no way I would ever get to see it any other way.

We have National Geographic, but not the same programmes so I don't know that I would ever have gotten to see it either. You are very welcome I love to share my "finds"

Ok. I have to comment on this. Watched the whole 3 hours, flipping around channels and watching the late night repeats until my spousal unit came home, where he, deafened by a gig, had no idea that was Timothy Olyphant.
I must confess, at some point I just had to crack up at "Raylan" talking about the mating rituals of various bizarre animals. (slight chuckle). In my mind, I could picture Raylan Givens trying to one day give the birds and the bees talk to Palmolive.
I think Olyphant should have just turned down the "surfer dude" and used his own voice. His voice is so husky and masculine.
This nature show was particularly gruesome, I had to keep switching to Extreme Rvs and Oddities SanFrancisco when something got chosen to be an entree.

I agree, MCM. I watched the first one and was going to wait awhile until I see the others. Too many "new little buddies" chewed up and spit out!
