That's the kind of film I would ordinarily avoid like the plague, but obviously I'll be watching this one.

in reading the article...did anyone else catch that the finale lost many viewers? I do not get the why on this but the short article was not good.

Dont get me wrong, anything with Tim in is ok by me. BUT, am I reading this right? He plays a brain-damaged adult man living with his mother? Seriously, this is what we are following up Cannibals 'n Cowboys with?
Where is my Rhett Butler as the lead in An-Officer & A-Gentleman-with-a-James-Bond-subplot movie? I have been very patient!

OMG! Our book club read this. This should be interesting. Without divulging too much, wkw99, is this a comedy (based on the cast) or a tragedy (based on the story's premise)? Didn't Tina Fey's name get mentioned on one of these boards as an actress we'd love to see TO play opposite? She's super talented, smart --- and not afraid to show it, beautiful, sexy, self-effacing and can do no wrong in my household. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for the ratings plummeting: a) There's no accounting for taste. b) We have our season five renewal already! c) The critical praise for this season has been on a par with season 2. d) No zombies. No brilliant, omniscient serial killers. Just fantastic dialogue, complex characters, terrific acting and a unique setting. e) Did I mention there's no accounting for taste?

I saw nothing in this article about the ratings for the finale (they wouldn't be out that soon anyway). No worries. Justified's ratings are solid and the reviews are consistently stellar.

I agree, the ratings are not good. They tend to double with the live +7 numbers but I wouldn't think advertisers would care too much about that since the point of DVRing it is to skip the commercials.
Maybe with the new Amazon Prime distribution deal new viewers will finally have the chance to check the show out. What I really don't understand is how you can turn the show off once you have seen it!?

Good! I was thinking Tina Fey might be playing Bateman's ex, but if she's his sister, that'll be good. She and TO should play well off each other.
I'm looking for the book now. We read it over a year ago, and I read a lot...so things tend to run together. I'll skim it and let y'all know what his part will be like.

I will need to read it before the film comes out, he's supposed to play a "mildly brain damaged, pot smoking" former lover of Tina Fey's character.

Ok...I found the book, after tearing apart my two floor to ceiling bookcases (hey, I read a lot) it was archived on my Kindle. Silly me. I remember it being funny, and reminding me a little of The Big Chill. It's very much an ensemble story.
If I remember right, TO's role isn't large, but I think it's a real opportunity to play against type-casting as far as his roles all being another version of Raylan. It's a character-actor's role, but small roles in good movies, which this has the potential to be, often lead to bigger things, film-wise. If this is part of his post-Justified career plan, I think it's a good move.

Clearly I would love to see him as a leading man in some big budget film. I feel too many people still say Timothy Olyphant who? A big role would give him a lot of exposure and people who like his performance might say 'hey, I gotta check out his TV show'.
I am desparate to get viewership up otherwise S5 will probably be it. All the critical love in the world won't help poor ratings. Justified has 150-200 people on staff not to mention the ever-growing list of 'producers' and that costs a lot of money.
While I agree that this movie could give TO a nice juicy against-type role, and he is limited by hiatus scheduling, it probably won't have a chance to help Justified. Even if it were released in time to impact S6 renewal, fans of one probably won't be fans of the other.
I think I will like this movie but I am sad at thinking in post-justified terms.

Well that's being a Debbie Downer, LJ! . Yost is a well respected writer/producer, with another show on the network. Justified's ratings, while not fantastic, are respectable for a a cable show. If Yost wants six seasons, I am confident he can get that last season. I'm not worried. At any rate, it has to end sometime. I just want them to be able to tell the story they set out to tell.

Surely Bone Tomahawk is first. It must be starting shooting pretty soon now. Those idiots who write the 'showbiz news' just make half of the story up in lieu of real facts.

I think Bone Tomahawk starts in July....which would mean his part in the new film is small and he will get through it quickly....or like Andiiv says they are talking rubbish.
