This is my wish list, in no particular order, what is yours?
1. Palmolive must be born. Poor Winona is bordering on Alpine Salamander territory.
2. Pick up a few dropped balls; Boyd and the pocket watch, Rachael's divorce, Johnny's whereabouts, Art's retirement. These things seemed significant and then just kind of disappeared.
3. Raylan being marshally on a plane. Perhaps visiting Winona or escorting fugitive.
4. Raylan tearing down Arlo's house. I know it won't happen but I'd like it to.
5. As always, more Tim, Rachael, Dickie and Dewey. Can't ever have too much of them.
6. Please no time jump. I don't want to be cheated out of Raylan's early days of fatherhood.

I want to hear about Raylan's mum....I'm sure there is a story about Frances there.

In connection with the story of Francis, it would be interesting to know more about Noble's Holler. Don't recall seeing to many women around, but there must be some if it's a real settlement. Also, Constable Bob deserves a couple more episodes. Yeah? What about Johnny?

Not so much season five, but my hopes for Justified generally is that 5USA will get behind the show in a way which will expand the UK fanbase rather than shut viewers out.
They suck!
When S3 started it went out at 11pm every Wednesday, right after SOA. SOA still has the prime 10pm - 11pm slot, but now they've taken to putting some kind of shit film on afterwards, pushing Justified back to 1.30am. Like anybody's going to accidentally catch it at that time! To add insult to injury, they fill the earlier schedule up with ancient cack like Star Trek Voyager!
They've got a solid gold show on their hands and by dicking around like this, they're making sure hardly anybody gets to see it. Idiots.

Re Frances. I want to find out more. Wouldn't it be interesting if Raylan sells the house and then must move their "graveyard" and, in doing so, finds NO body in his Mother's grave. Hmmmm....

My wishes for S5: Baby Givens, first of all, with the sweet R&W scenes that should go along with that. An answer to the 'where the hell is Johnny Crowder' mystery. More Wynn Duffy More Tim and Rachel (but not as a love interest for Raylan as some are suggesting!) More snarky Art. As others have said, I would love to know more about Frances, and if that involves Limehouse, all the better. Did I mention more Winona?

Looks like we're all on the same page here. I also want to see what Boyd does to get Ava out of jail. She really screwed herself---and he helped. I'm pretty sure Ellen May didn't realize that Delroy's death was premeditated. She would have been a good witness for a self-defense plea, except for the fact that Ava threatened her repeatedly and then almost killed her.
Can't wait to see Boyd and Wynn working together...kind of like watching a sack full of weasels because that's what they both act like most of the time.
More Bob! More Bob!

#1 - Raylan gets to meet his baby girl. #2 - Raylan and Winona make slow but loving steps towards each other. Clearly their love has no end...maybe it needs a true new beginning. #3 Johnny redeemed by coming up with the way to get Ava released...we all lose our way...always liked Johnny. #4 Plenty of Wynn and Boyd and Raylan on both their cases. #5 Yeah I agree we need more clues as to mama Frances. #6 No more Detroit invasion of Harlan...after Quarles, Nicky, Theo etc. it is enough that Wynn is the kingpin of the area east of the Mississippi. That is my wish list.

How bout Cassie and Tim...with Boyd definitely pissed at Cassie for putting Ava in jail...or do we all think she left town? That was such a cool twist yet not surprising. And they teased us with the papers that needed Raylan to sign...thinking they were not signed as she went to....visit her mom? live with her mom til Raylene is born (not that name please Mr. Yost) making a permanent move? Darn Kevin Bacon....she is Raylan's ex first and foremost.

I don't mind seeing Rachael and Raylan getting closer, but I'd prefer it to be UST (that's unresolved sexual tension). I believe they respect the hell out of one another which can lead to an attraction. I hope the writers continue to toy with it but don't actually cross the line.

She is smart enough to know he loves Winona and his kid and would never cross that line...she did say he was nice to look at...but he may be her boss one day......I think they will build on the friendship...and also on the friendship of the Raylan and Tim...he (Raylan) is becoming more tuned in with his fellow marshals.

think the papers were used as a way for her to tell him his child is a she and allow for that classic line..."I don't know shit about girls"...Gosh I just love his reaction.

I was over on the FX site a while ago and answered this. For those of you who can't get in, I wrote that I would like to see Raylan teamed up on a case with Mary Shannon (Mary McCormick ) of "In Plain Sight." She and Raylan are like two peas in a pod... products of dysfunctional families, driven by the job, unable to sustain relationships, not too good about following the rules, not to mention sexy.
As I wrote over there>>>>, this would not be a love match. They are too much alike in all of the worst ways. But it would be fun to see them working a case, especially if Bob got thrown in from time to time.
lilliput, who posts on the FX site jumped in right away. She's all for it. Anyone else think this would be a hoot?
And I can't believe I forgot this! Mary works with WITSEC. That could be the tie-in.

I agree it would be a hoot...very funny...problem is (not to be a party pooper) 'In Plain Sight' was on USA...not FX. Crossovers are rare enough when shows are on the same network. They're pretty much non-existent when they aren't. USA would own the rights to the character. They aren't going to let someone else use her. (For the same reason, Karen Sisco was Karen Goodall in 'Cut Ties').
If Mary Shannon and Raylan work together, it's gonna have to be in the fanfic world.

I agree. It would have been good. Unfortunately In Plain Sight isn't on anywhere anymore. Mary McCormack quit when she had her baby. Charlie Almanza was/is marshal advisor to both IPS and Justified. In other 'small world' news she will be on a new comedy this fall with .... Mike O'Malley.
In fact, at this point there has been so much talent through Harlan County that we could probably play six degrees of Justified.

Wow! It really is a small world, isn't it, lj? This thread is called "Hopes for season 5." Actually this was just a "dream" of mine instead. Never really expected it to happen, but I just got a charge out of thinking about how much fun it would be.

Yep, I wrote that before I watched the season finale. It changes things, doesn't it? Nothing like a little Mr. and with child, former Mrs. Givens shoot 'em up to bring a family closer together.

Three months have passed and I'd like to reopen this. Yost hints unless it works schedule-wise, that baby may not be born this season...now that would make a great series finale...baby born and Raylan and Winona ride off into the sunset TOGETHER with Palmolive. Okay enough silly. With Arlo gone...a reveal about Frances would be a nice twisty thing for season 5...remember Arlo did say she was not St Frances. I want Raylan present at the birth...he has had so much loss - it is time for a moment of pure awkward joy. As to Johnny - with Augustine gone but Duffy becoming bigger...he was set free by Rachel and likely must lay low as Boyd wants to PUNISH betrayal....and may be unable to get at Paxton so easy. Not sure what part Cassie played in the arrest...they all knew something about Delroy...or did she get that ball rolling? If she did - then she, too needs to make tracks to escape Boyd's rath...I suspect Boyd's rath will be overwhelming...the longer he must live without Ava. The unresolved issue for Raylan...that house needs to sell. End his ties to Arlo and to his Harlan past. Plus the proceeds would allow him to support his baby and "wife" so I see that being a factor. I love how Yost saw the "heat" and that he will continue to build on the Raylan and Winona story...only downside to that is no naked Raylan...I think he is very leary of any attachments other than Winona....but with Raylan...one can never say never. I think Limehouse won't be on...he has a new series. But we likely will see Dewey...and maybe even Dickie. Duffy for sure. And maybe Sammi Tonin....and Vasquez. I fear we will hear that either or both Drew and Hunter may die at the hands of a paid for killer in prison...I do think we are done with Ellen May......and ha ha Coltin is gone so Boyd will need a new "second in command" since Coltin, Johnny and even Ava are gone. So anyone seeing anything in particular....am I way off?

If the birth happens off-screen, I can deal with it, as long as Raylan is present. Chicago PD, Mykelti Williamson's new show, is only in the pilot stages. IF it's picked up (and lasts), he might still be available for an episode or two of Justified.

They have to have a reason for any return and I thought they sort of closed the book on Limehouse. His battles with Boyd were verbal and subtle and over. His respect for Ava is pretty much gone. He set Ellen May free and Drew is gone. His focus is back on Nobles and unless he is the one who knows the truth of Frances Givens...I just don't see him needed...he is great actor but Justified goes for story as a priority...and they do it so well....I miss Judge Reardon...but I question how to bring him back...again...unless he performs the marriage ceremony for Raylan and Winona...and let's be honest...don't hold your breath on that.

That last scene of the season ... where Raylan is patching up the holes in the wall ... Kicking back a beer while looking at the tombstones. It will be really interesting to see how he deals with the house.
How do you sell a house with a family graveyard on the property? In this case, near the house?
I could see Raylan blowing into town minutes before the baby is born. We know he'd want to be there, unless he's in hot pursuit ... on a case. I don't think Winona would ever forgive him if he wasn't there ... if he allowed his work to take priority over the birth of his child. (She knows he can take time off for the birth ... he would only be putting work, not only head of her ... but of their baby. Not okay.)

Yost said in an interview in the beginning of season 4 that they would entertain the idea of doing a birth scene if Natalie really wanted to do one. At this point I don't care if we see it or not, I just want the baby to be born. (preferably at the beginning of the season) Maybe they'll open with something like them in the hospital but the baby is a few hours old, or Raylan heading back to Kentucky a few days after the baby was born. We've seen enough of Raylan dealing with impending fatherhood and sort of running away from it, I want to see him finally have to deal with being a father and how someone like him will adjust to that. I'm interested in seeing how Boyd is dealing with Ava being in jail and what his ultimate plan in for getting her out. I wonder if Wynn Duffy is going to be the main big bad this year. If they are indeed doing only 6 seasons getting rid of Duffy in season 5 is surely a great set up for the inevitable Raylan v. Boyd endgame. Not to mention Boyd and Ava at some point will have to become fugitives for Raylan and the Marshal's to go after him. Right? I want to meet Art's wife Leslie. That's Nick Searcy's wife's name too. Is she actress also? Finally, I want to learn a little bit more about Francis. Dolphin- I just saw you had a birthday. I hope you had a great one![b/]
