Just wanted to take a moment to breath in a little tradition by wishing former Pope Benedict a graceful and peaceful post service life and to wish Pope Francis the First all the best as he embarks on his new journey. And may Easter and Palm Sunday reflect his wishes of good will towards all mankind. We are all God's Children, no matter where we pray or what we practice. Be charitable to one another. Especially to the less fortunate. Good Health to one and all....

I get a big kick out of the fact that old, mostly white men use smoke signals. Being a half-breed, I think it's positively hilarious. I'm Agnostic, and immune to this pomp and circumstance. (I'm not quoting anyone, this is my personal opinion.)

Lg, meaning no disrespect, but I did get a giggle out of your wishes for charity and good will to all next to your lovely picture of the man pointing the gun at us.
I am a roman catholic, and still I feel as about as immune as you, WT. Those guys in Rome aren't my demographic either.
Nevertheless, kind thoughts and hopes are never wasted. Thank you LG.

It's all good....How are you Westtexas??? Nice to see you are back...I am actually Protestant, Presbyterian...Being of Scandinavian and Scottish heritage mostly (the Irish n English in me only come out when there's alcohol involved...lol)...But I do like all things traditional....Including that of American Indians which I appreciate the traditions of most....I very much believe in the Spirit world and that life and death are journeys....And that man should be one with and respect mother Earth and all her creatures.... I hope you are caught up on all you missed while away...And glad to see your insightful input is back...You were sorely missed....

Lol...LJ, I didn't realize that.....How funny....But Raylan does at times show mercy on his opponents...So he shows he can be fair and judge his opponents as God would him if they were in a face off/showdown....He doesn't always kill....At least not so much this season anyway as he did in the past...Older n wiser I'd suspect.....

WT! Howdy!! ;D
I've been struck by how different this man seems from his predecessor. I like his choice of names...St. Frances of Assisi is a favorite of mine, being the patron saint of animals.
I'm not Catholic, either...well, except for small 'c' catholic. I think it's always good to have a down to earth person in charge...supposedly he rode the bus to work and cooked his own meals. He seems to have lived a life of service to others....let's see what he can do.

Howdy to you and yours!! The most recent pic you sent to me of Gunnar pup is priceless. I'm sorry for your loss, but happy for your gain. Most times, what is lost, is found. At times, through another. Had a horse teach me that recently. By the way, my family and I really miss you. Jared.

Thank you. But most don't have any idea what the blood quantum laws are or what it is to be on the Dawes list.
And I agree that we are the 'First People.' We are spirit people. ...So, back to Nope...I mean Pope. The guy sounds like a really great, grounded person. Hopefully that won't go to shit.

I don't know anything about saints except Saint Patrick...and well, sometimes Saint James Place if I'm playing Monopoly. I did meet some one in Saint Louis once...ding ding ding went the trolley...alas it was with all of my luggage, but I did something unforgettably wonderful on Mt. Saint Helen's Day though.... Laughing. I guess I'm familiar with a few saints.
I digress. I have, in fact been vaccinated against organized religion, making me super immune, but I wish the gentleman and his followers peace.

If I remember correctly, isn't Dawes the genealogical bloodline trace of chicasaw n Cherokee tribes...Something about the 5 tribes...I can't recall all of what I've read....
And blood quantum is the US enacted law of traced bloodlines of Native Americans....That I learned in school....But it's been awhile...

I too am immune to organized religion but I LOVE pomp and ceremony, WT and all gathered here. Give me a coronation, a royal wedding, etc. and I'm there. I waited for 45 minutes for the little dude to come out of the door but I had a haircut appointment and missed him! It was fun to see Rome and St. Pete's Square because we were just there a couple of years ago. I would like to think this seemingly humble man will be better than others, but, from his current stance on things....probably not.

I'm not Catholic, either. I watched The Conclaves with great interest; however, because my TV love, Kyle Chandler, is doing a pilot for Showtime called "The Vatican." It is supposed to be based on real life occurrences within the Catholic Church. Suffice to say, Kyle, who will play a younger Cardinal of New York, will not be named Pope should the pilot go to series. Hey, WT! Always good to hear from you! And LG, very nice sentiments.

I am Catholic and and Scottish, but of Irish/Italian extraction. I love the tradition of the smoke thing, but I have grave concerns about the corruption in the hierarchy of the Church. I wish Francis I well and hope he can negotiate the politics of the Church and maybe influence some much needed change.
