How many scenes does Tim have in this old HBO TV movie? And whereabouts are they? Anyone know? I managed to rent the DVD but the end, or rather the last third, is defective.
Thanks much.

If the last third is defective, you may or may not see his final scene which ends at about the 1:09 (one hour nine minute ) mark. My DVD is broken up into 15 chapters/scene selections. That scene occurs in the 10th chapter.
I could skim through it and pick out the TO moments if you like.

I watched the movie, it wasn't so bad at all. I got to where Lieutenant Lukas loses it and that squad manages to overwhelm the Nazis who were firing with that rocket launcher or whatever it's called. And after that, the stupid thing just froze.

After the battle is his final scene. Pretty serious stuff.

I own this movie as well. I figured I was the only one who had seen it. I'm kind of a WW2 buff. This is a little known battle. Read the reviews on amazon. Serious business. Don't watch this without understanding the pivotal time in the war.
I often wondered if this was the "war movie" that Tim whined to his agent about doing because the wardrobe sucked? Or was it the one with the AWOL kid?

I heard a very comical audio interview about this movie. Tim told us about he and his fellow actors moaning and complaining about the cold and how Frank Whaley (who played the medic) threatened to quit, how the director or producer dared him to follow through and how he had to swallow his pride and come back to work after his tantrum.
I'll see if I cant find it and post it here.

I liked the movie. (I haven't seen the end yet, though). It shows the inhumanity of war and that it does not produce "shining heroes". I thought it was awesome how this Lt. Manning dude was a total a$$hole and at the same time managed to do something "heroic". Whereas Lukas was determined to do the right thing and then goes nuts.
Also I just like movies where Nazis get their a$$es wupped. haha.
I did notice the cold in the movie and wondered about that. God, they're such wussies! It does give it a very realistic feel. I was thinking all the time how could they -- the real soldiers -- survive this even? Warm food being an exception etc.
Huertgen Forest is not far from where I live. (Yes, I know they didn't shoot it there.)
