Well, if Boyd has profits to cut in to maybe that alludes to a more significant time jump than last seasons 3 weeks, bc I don't think they were making much from their protection money. And there's been no mention of someone being cast as a main villain yet, so hopefully it'll mainly be Boyd and Ava shenanigans in Harlan. I still hope they do the 3 different story arc (I'm sure I'm probably in the minority on that though) Lastly, yay for them going into the writing room a month earlier!!

Sounds very interesting. All I ask for is good storytelling, lots of Raylan, and more of our faves---Boyd, Ava, Art, of course, Tim and Rachel. Also some progress on how Raylan and Winona are going to parent the new little one. I hope we get to see said little one soon.

Oh, I'm with you! I hope minds are changed and we get to see Winona for more than "3 or '4 episodes! I really feel she and Raylan are connected on a vital level and neither will never have the same spark with anyone else. I wanna see him with a "baby on board", dangit. Is that too much to ask after all the villains are assigned and the mayhem is story boarded?

I didn't know what a constable was. It's different from state to state. This is from Wikipedia. (Plus I hear you all about Raylan/Winona/Baby. They can't unring that bell.)
"In Kentucky, constables are elected from each magistrate district in the state. There are between three and eight magistrate districts in each county. Under Section 101 of the Kentucky Constitution, constables have the same countywide jurisdiction as the county sheriff.[46]
Prior to the 1970s, the main function of the constables was to provide court service and security to the Justice of the Peace courts. However, since these have been eliminated by judicial reform, the office of constable now has few real functions. Constables still have the power of arrest and to execute warrants, subpoenas, summonses and other court documents, and are required to execute any court process given to them. On the approval of the Fiscal Court (the legislature of the county) they may equip their vehicles with oscillating blue lights and sirens.[46]
Most constables in Kentucky are not paid a salary, but are paid fees for services rendered. However, state law provides for payment of an annual salary of $9,600 to constables in counties with a population of over 250,000; as of the 2000 U.S. Census, this only applies in Louisville Metro/Jefferson County and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. The payment has become a point of controversy, since constables in Kentucky have few actual duties.[46] The state has authorized a salary of up to $9,600 a year, but the Louisville Metro Council cut it to $100 a month, plus expenses.
Anyone standing for election as a Constable must be at least 24 years of age, a resident of Kentucky for at least 2 years, and a resident of the county and district for at least a year prior to election.[46] Since Constables are Constitutional peace officers they are exempt from attending the mandatory Department of Criminal Justice Training academy, although they may choose to do so. Sheriffs, Coroners, and Jailers are also exempted law enforcement officers. The Kentucky Constables Association is affiliated with the National Constables Association."

Well at least it's not "Hole in the floor" Oh that's from my favorite episode of season three and I thought it was hilarious, just a brilliant, brilliant idea. The final episode also rocked very hard. It's a tie actually.

isn't Constable Bob the one who helped Boyd? When Quarles "won" the election and Constable Bob came in to explain that Napier's sister was employed and therefore voided his win...wasn't that the constable...who from that can be bought. They also do in the hints claim Raylan may get a new love interest....a no-nonsense bails bondman...who happens to be "extremely hot" - oh I could so wrap my head around that..beware Winona...someone wants the marshal you don't want? ?

It's my feeling that Raylan and Winona will have limited contact in season 4. There will have to be some connection because of the baby and making decisions about visitation, etc. Winona has not changed her mind about being with Raylan. I think she wishes with all of her heart that she could, but she is not going to budge.
Raylan has tried several times to convince her that they could make it work, but he is pretty clueless about how women's minds work and what is important to them. You have to have a solid relationship with women growing up, or you don't develop that insight. His mother was not a good example, and although Helen was an influence, and cared for and about him, I don't think she provided this either. In many ways, Helen was an unusual woman.
The fact that we are going to see a love interest for Raylan makes me think that he will try to move on. Leonard does not marry him off again in his books, so it's my guess that he will have new relationships from time to time. We'll have to see how this unfolds, but I don't think he will fall madly in love with another woman and marry her. Winona is always going to be in the back of his mind. I would be surprised if he developed that depth of feeling for someone else.

I don't understand how a Constable fits into the law enforcement 'heirchy.' It may not even be addressed. We don't have them in the state where I live. Raylan does like a tough, take-care-of-herself kind of woman, doesn't he? (Aunt Helen, Winona, Ava, Lindsey.) A bail bondman would fit his MO. But I'm with you all ... he'll never fall for anyone as far and hard as he fell for Winona.

I do not see Winona as a take care of herself...til the pregnancy. Same with Ava...she was so dependent on Raylan to save her from Harlan...til Boyd and her becoming his partner in all things...but I do agree about Helen. Would you define Raylan as a no-nonsense kind of marshal? a no nonsense kind of man? I say marshal yes, man I say not so much so. His heart leads as a man.

'book, I think I agree with you. He is a no-nonsense marshal, albeit a bit unconventional in his methods at times. He's serious about his job. As for he ladies, well--he can really mess things up. If Raylan had any really insight into a woman's mind he would be a whole lot more successful in the romance department. To me, yin and yang have to overlap a bit for a good relationship.
Dolphin, on the constable thing. I've always thought that they were a part of smaller law enforcement forces, like a sheriff's department in a small town. I'm not sure that large forces have a position like that. If they do, they call them something else.
Constables serve warrants, deliver summons, maybe make arrests, handle other paper work, go on patrol. Stuff like that. He or she would be sort of an assistant to the sheriff, allowing him to do other things. If the sheriff serves in a small town he has probably has a small force of one or two officers , if he's lucky, and needs someone to do this type of work.

Dolphin, thanks for the lesson on "constables". Really the only time I have ever heard the work was on Star Trek: Deep Space 9, and that constable was like...liquid, if any one recalls that.
I know Patton Oswalt will be great. He's super funny and I've loved him on United states of Tara where he was the "straight man" to all of the crazy characters on that show.
One thing, Oswalt is Maybe 5'7" . they better use creative blocking to keep both Long, Lanky Tim and Patton in the frame.

This is sort of unrelated, but I was just looking at John Hawkes' IMDB page and noticed that he's in "Untitled Elmore Leonard Project" which appears to be a continuation of Jackie Brown. It's in pre-production now, set to be out in 2013. Given Mr. Elmore's glowing review of TO as Raylan, is there hope for a Starr and Bullock reunion in Elmore Leonard's world??? Oh please, oh please, oh please!! I'd even take a little cameo appearance.

According to Tumblr and someone who saw Graham Yost speak at the New York TV Festival, episodes 1-4 deal with the snake handling church (the writers apparently went to Harlan to research it.) and a chunk of episode 6 is based on "Raylan" by Elmore Leonard. It doesn't say which chunk though.

I'm just wondering: wkw noted the post on the new characters. I wonder if each of those four characters could have their own story arc? We talked about this possibility before. It could move the timeline forward, which is necessary for us to see the baby this season.

Justified TV series has been rated the best. The main character Raylan Givens known as Timothy Olyphant has performed his absolute class. The Trench coat he is wearing is great. For more features about the coat visit my site. Click here.
