Wow! I don't think the ink is dry yet, but my daughter has been offered a featured role on an upcoming episode of "A Gifted Man"!! I immediately bombarded her with questions to ask Margo Martindale, should they happen to share scenes but she professionally announced that she would NOT be asking her "What's Timothy Olyphant Really Like?"
I mean, you raise 'em, you feed 'em, you drive 'em to play rehearsals and soccer practice and they won't do a simple favor.....
I think I DID get her to guarantee that she would congratulate her on her Emmy. LOL
Also, while I'm pushing my kid, she and a friend did what I think is a hilarious commercial for a church event. Check it out on YouTube using the words "Kilty and Laura and Holy-Ween". If you're super religious you might be offended.

So.... I'll "reply" to my own post. The actual name of the YouTube video is Holly-Ween Festival Commercial. I think....

COOL! Wow. I am impressed. You'll have to tell us all about what she has to say!

Very awesome. You know what this means...3 degrees of Separation between you and Timothy Olyphant......LOL....or do you count that as only 2? Not sure how that works.
Anyway, very, very cool. To bad those G.D. DVDs aren't out yet.... you could ask your daughter to have Margo autograph them. Can get the European DVD copy in your daughters hands though...consider it.

Wow and congratulations to her. I actually watched the show for the first time last week and it was good. Hope your daughter has a great time.
And Bookperson..do we seem like the easily offended type here? LOL!
PS - I recently saw a cute little movie called "Win/Win" with Paul Giamati and about halfway through in comes Margo Martindale. Small part as a lawyer but she was very good. Tell your daughter to rent it.
PPS - Note that we are all excited about her getting to play with Margo but how about Patrick Wilson? He's adorable!

book, or Audrey, I guess I should say, this is great news! It's so hard sometimes for young artists to break in to good shows. I hope she will have a wonderful time. Keep us posted. (I understand that Law and Order provides quite lot of opportunities for actors, as well.)

One thing at a time, clover!
No, I don't think anyone here would be too offended, but when it comes to religion I've had my wrist slapped a couple of times. LOL
I will be seeing "Win Win" next week. I'm on the board of our local film festival and it was one of our choices. Glad to hear MM is in it.
Patrick is adorable, but not half as cute as TO! LOL I saw an interview with Margo where she said she was going to be going from from hunk to another!

Hunk to hunk, maybe, but definitely a downgrade from our boy! I think you'll like Win/Win. It's a feel good movie. Giamati is wonderful, as are all the other players. Enjoy.

motorcity, I don't know WHY they don't bring out the dang DVDs sooner than approx 2 days before the show starts a new season. They did that last year. Sheesh You'd almost think they wanted to keep it a secret. When they re-run the first season, they do it at 1:00 AM or some equally accessible time. I guess that's what DVRs are for. Methinks they need a marketing seminar or so.

Hi, book! I had a chance to watch the you tube video and then the storm hit---no tv, no computer, no lights, no heat. I am just now getting caught up with all of the laundry that was piled up, and the cleaning that I had planned to do. I don't even want to think about how many tree limbs I had to collect. Thankfully, my dear neighbor is taking everything to the township complex where they will be chipped up. One of his trees just broke apart in the middle of its trunk!
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I thought it was so clever. I am assuming that your daughter is the pretty one on the right? I've been a person of faith all of my life and am active in my church, but my congregation is fairly liberal and we have a sense of humor. The really funny thing is that in my area, there are tons of churches that could have done a video like this and been serious about it.

That's cool!
I also have a past, double 3 degrees of separation from TO. My daughter was an Art Dept. intern on 'Management.' A B-Rated indie film starring Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn ... not surprisingly, Margo Martindale was the standout performance of the film.

Cool, Dolphin!
Update on "A Gifted Man". My daughter's show is #2.10 (she thinks!). It was filmed a few weeks ago but about the time it was due up, they started to do re-runs and Christmas Specials. She imagines it will be one of the first ones to go in the New Year. They are using the original number ordered and have ordered 3 more so hers should be safe.
As to Margo, Laura only had one short scene with her. She was going in a door as Margo was going out (or vice versa). She said she was friendly and lovely but didn't get to converse with her too much. She told me the entire cast and crew were fantastic and helpful since she was a newby to TV. Two other guest actors told her they didn't believe this was her first network TV show.
As to Patrick Wilson, she said he was one of the sweetest men she has ever met. He asked her if she would come to his dressing room and sign his poster. Apparently he has a huge poster for the show and asks all of his guest "stars" to sign it. She said he was lovely.
I'll let y'all know if I have a "for sure" date.

I am. She hasn't gotten as far as she wanted, but she's come fairly far and it's all due to perseverance and attitude! :-)

Well, as far as we can figure out, Laura's episode of "A Gifted Man" will run this Friday, the 6th. She plays the mother of a young boy.

Wow, she was great! Very natural. I held my breath and prayed when they talked about her being the one hurting the child but thankfully she wasn't! Congrats to her!

I held my breath there, too clover.
She could play Patricia Clarkson's daughter. I think there's a strong resemblance.

Thanks. She didn't have a lot to do, but she did it nicely if I do say so. Thanks for putting up the link.

I know what you mean about IMDB. My daughter was Erin Moore VII. Then, she married and is now Erin Van Dyke (she will be the first, Erin Van Dyke I ... whenever there is another one). BTW, she did a really good job. Your daughter might contact the production office and ask them to fix the link error on IMDB. (My daughter has had to that on occasion, as the production people are the only ones who can go in there and make corrections.)
