Don't know if I can stand the slimy lawyers again, though.
Just remember this is the role that landed him Raylan.

I just LOVE that one scene where she first goes to his apartment and just about throws him against the wall! Not that he was resisting! Do what I do...Go to Netflix...load up each episode seperately..fast forward to all TO parts....and see the whole season in about an hour! A little time-consuming and now that I've written it down and read it back it sounds just a LITTLE CRAZY, but hey, I confess, I'VE DONE IT and enjoyed it immensely, LOL.

I own both Season 1 and 2 DVDs. I bought them as a package. But I've never seen Season 1 of Damages. I went right for the TO season. and yes, I did FF through some of the Ted Danson and William Hurt story. You could still figure out what was going on, not that it mattered. 38-39 year old Timothy is so beautiful in that series. Just stunningly handsome.

I absolutely agree. He's stunning. I didn't know he was in it until I was doing some channel surfing and came across a scene with him in it and then I was hooked. I think they were showing four shows on Saturday night or something and I watched every one he was in. MCM, I didn't realize this was the role that got him Raylan. Hooray for that. He's just so awesome.

I'm sure that I don't have to mention again how much I love Wes Krulick. God! He's perfect!

ROFL Line from S2E13 Trust Me:
"The next time I see you, there won't be a conversation." Ahhhhhhh. Raylan!!
And all of a sudden, in S3E13 The Next One's Gonna Go In Your Throat ... he looks and sounds like Raylan. Nice.

This was a heartbreaking storyline. There was a genuine attraction between Wes and Ellen, but it was premised on all of the wrong reasons. She was grieving and very lonely, and he was being blackmailed. If they had met under normal circumstances, it would have been so great, but they were both in the relationship for the wrong reasons.
What I loved was when Wes came to see Ellen in season three. He was ready to do the right thing, and he admitted to having had feelings for her. But by doing the right thing, he would be going away for a long time and they could never be together. It broke my heart.

Oh my gosh, that music they played when he opened his wardrobe to reveal all those clippings gave me CHILLS. He is gorgeous here, but I'm hottest for 1990s TO. He was just swoon-worthy. First time I saw him was in I am Number Four and once that hair came off I thought there is no earthly reason for a man to be THAT good looking. Clearly he's from another planet. Then, I saw Scream 2 again and I said to myself, WHAAA! It's that alien guy!! Just when I thought it wasn't humanly possible, he's even more painfully, ridiculously handsome as a youngin'. On a side note, my father sent me this on FB. Thought you ladies might get a chuckle.

*bump* Just re-watched the 2nd season in fastforward mode. Man, what a great show. ALL the actors are just beyond fabulous. What a wonderful cast. And Tim is just perfect for the part. I could go on ranting and raving about this show forever. It's better than most of the lame movies that Hollywood's come up with lately. Dang it. I have to take care of the laundry. haha!

One of my favorite series. I have watched season 1 a few times. The first time it was somewhat confusing. You are right, cschmoo--the acting is fabulous. Glenn Close and Rose Byrne are so good together. BTW, I saw Rose in a movie last night--"The Dead Girl." Another great performance from her. But Nick Searcy plays a serial killer! I was SO bummed.
Season 2 was my first formal introduction to Timothy. I had seen him before, but just quick little roles. I didn't know who he was. Season 2 of Damages left me totally smitten. Later, when I saw the promos for Justified I knew it would be my new favorite show.

I want to discuss Damages more, but I don't have the time right now. ARGH. Oh, btw, I'm still cschm0903, but I changed my display name and added a recent pic of myself that I took with my iPhone. Love my iPhone. Sorry I'm blabbing, but I so enjoy writing in English.

Ah, when Wes came to see Ellen in S3 Damages Tim had already been "wearing the Raylan suit" having already filmed ( or was in the process of filming) S1 of Justified.
Can't you tell? When he walks into the bar Wes has got a Raylan swagger to him. plus his hair is "Justified" length.
I thought it was totally stupid having the Wes character fall on the sword like that, admitting to shooting the assassin / cop who killed Rose Byrne's (ch) boyfriend. He should have just turned in Fobisure.
It would have been cool if they brought him back periodically. but no, Rose has to have the romance du jour of the season.
Recommendation: Check out Rose Byrne with Josh Hartnett (HOT-nett) and Diane Kruger in Wicker Park. Director Paul McGuigan's American adaptation of the french masterpiece L'appartement

Agreeing that TO is HOTT in Damages ... Did anyone else besides me have a problem with the creep factor of knowing that Wes was playing Ellen (and for good reason, although his motives not fully revealed at the time)? I can appreciate the scenes he's in, the chemistry between Wes and Ellen, the video! But the actual storyline ... I dunno. I couldn't get into Damages as a show. I too only bought and FF through the muck to get to the TO episodes and parts. Was it worth it? Oh, yeah. Is the show worth it? No, not imo. Not my cup of tea. But hey! It got him to Justified ... and I can really appreciate that.

I really wanted to like Damages. There are so many powerful actors on that cast. I streamed all of the episodes on Netflix the first time. Then bought the season for the commentary and to add to the collection. Just something about power-hungry, ruthless lawyers makes me not enjoy it. Gives me a sick feeling in my tummy, people being so vindictive and suspicious of each other. Acting was great. Rose Byrne is so convincingly American.
By the by, not to take anything away from Rose, I think TO is great opposite anyone. TO would have insane chemistry with a cardboard box. That man just exudes sex.

I really wanted to like Damages. I can totally related. I'm a fan of Glenn Close. Not my favorite role for her. I can't put my finger on why I don't care for Damages ... but I don't. And I gave it a fair chance. LOL Heck! If TO can't make me like it?? Could it be because it's about slimy lawyers? I dunno. I've liked some other law shows. (But there certainly has been a glut of them over the years.)

Ah ha ha ha . I love the German voice over. I've heard over and over from my European colleagues that once they hear an actors real voice in English, it ads a whole new dimension and appreciation to the performance. Best case of this was apparently Shrek; LOL.
There are only a few voice over actors I guess, so when they get things in dubbed format, it's often with the same voices over and over for a lot of different material.
Of course most of our European friends are lucky enough to have multiple languages ingrained in their culture and educational system, lucky chaps.
Speaking of our German friends; We haven't heard from Christina in a while. Come baaaak, come Baaaaak, If you see this dear.

I knew I had seen him somewhere before but couldn't think where. they stopped showing Damages here after season 3 I think. This is the only clip I could find. He looks sooooooo good. I couldn't get into Damages (as a series). I just wanted to see TO from all the comments of the members, here. I went to IMDB.com and only watched the eps listed for him, skipping the ones that list him as "credited only". I even fast forwarded to his scenes. I'm a big fan of Glenn Close and Rose Byrne, but Damages is too HEAVY handed on the drama and intrigue for me. I so enjoy the lightness and comedy that is injected into Justified for just that reason. Otherwise, I wouldn't be such a fan. This world has become so dark and heavy and serious, I watch TV to escape and be entertained. HA! I just saw on IMDB that Rose Byrne is in an episode of Portlandia playing Fred's girlfriend. I must see! CHRISTINA: Yes, please check in!!

this was fun to see...I loaned out my Damages DVDs to a friend, can't wait to get them back and take another look. He was only in the one episode of Season 3, shown above...we was a great character...but by then he was filming Justified and really couldn't be a part of Ellen's life anymore... I thought he walked in a little bit like Raylan would, too!
I agree the best thing to do is ff season 2 to the TO parts, makes the whole thing much better. There was something compelling about the series when I first saw it, maybe because of all the sequence tricks they used, getting a viewer hooked on a mystery, so you'd have to watch to see what was happening... I bought the first 2 seasons in a package deal for $10 at Target, had to get the 3rd season later from Amazon, but really only watched it to get to the TO/Wes parts.
he looked really good on this show!

Once I saw how amazing Mr O looked in Damages I tried to start watching season 2. I had no idea what was going on. Then I tried to fast forward to all the Mr O scenes and it was too time consuming. One of these days I'm going to watch the series. As much as I can drool over him in any setting, when you take scenes out of context like that it looses all the passion, all the feeling. I can't appreciate what's being said because I don't understand it, which makes it LESS sexy. Does that make sense?

Damages is one of those series that you have to see from the beginning. It is a bit confusing at first, what with all of the going back and forth in time. Also, season one is not resolved at the end. I had to watch season one again because there was so much going on and things are never what they seem. (Except that Arthur Frobisher is a dick.) After viewing it again, I was ready for season 2. Same thing. You think your know what's going on, but you really don't. This didn't matter much to me once Tim showed up. I knew I would be watching it again!
I have re-watched all of the seasons except for 4. Since I don't have Direct TV, I had to get the DVD to see it for the first time. It is totally gut wrenching. I was completely wrung out at the end. It's pretty well wrapped up at the end of the season, so I'm going to go on to season 5. (Hint to my family and friends who give me birthday and Christmas gifts.)
The Patty/Ellen conflict carries over from season to season, and there is a whole lot of it, so this is why I think you should start with season 1, watch it a couple of times and then go forward. Aside from the beauty of Tim in one of his best roles, I think, the characters and the acting and the twists and turns are awesome. I am glad that I have never been called upon to be Patty Hewes psychiatrist. She takes cases that are really important. She is a great victim's advocate and fights against corruption at the highest level. But Patty herself is corrupt in her personal life, so bad things ensue. It's the juxtaposition of these things that make it a great show. No one is all good or all bad. Ellen stops working for Patty because Patty is a bit crazy and does very bad things. And she does her best to be different. I think she is a purer soul than Patty. Patty is the savior of the down-trodden, but she takes their cases for a reason. She needs the power and the glory. Ellen likes a good case for it's own sake.

I agree, there is no way to follow the story between the two main characters without starting from scratch. Damages was such a well-written show, and I loved Timothy's character because it was hard to tell which side he was on for a while. I miss that show.
