First thought: Wow he looks gorgeous. Second thought: This writer KNOWS his SUBJECT. I think only we armchair experts have such good insight into Tim. I think that was one of the best print interviews I have read with Tim. So much insight into his career and his choices. Loved the bit about the fake story where his parents bribed the swim coach. I think Tim would have been a great Iron Man (even though RDJ was basically born for the part) but I think Tim would have been miserable with that level of fame. I think now if he got a part like that he would have a blast with it and be able to side step some of the major baggage that comes with it, especially since his kids are almost out of the house. I'm glad to hear he would be receptive to a Justified movie. I doubt it would ever happen but I would love for Graham to bring Raylan back to life with a movie or maybe a mini series.

I loved the framing of the whole interview, sitting down to dinner with him to finishing their last drinks in the end and saying goodnight. Very well written.
Tremendous insight into his career. Author even mentioned his work on The Mindy Project and The Grinder. The only detail really missing from this great article is the fact that TO's been married to same woman for nearly 30 years. That plus the fact that none of his kids are Instagram "influencers" proves he made good decisions after all about his career and being able to shoot at home most of the time. It's almost impossible to be a huge movie star and have a happy, normal private life, and I think he could have risked that if he had been doing big budget movies or TV shows for six months on the other side of the world with all the temptations that brings. Even the best couples can't seem to stay together. Ewan McGregor is one I thought would never run off with some costar but yet he did. Meanwhile, Tim on the other hand was presumably happily driving his kids around while Mrs. O slept in.
I really think we will get a Justified movie at some point. It's the thing to do now, and isn't there new unused Raylan material from Elmore and his son? I think they just need to let enough time go by for people to really miss it, so after it's been off the air at least five years.

Thanks for the photos! I was trying to grab them but the page kept freezing on me, idk if it was high site traffic or just all the video ads but I finally had to say screw it and read the interview on my phone. I don't know what he is doing in the 4th pic but his pose made me laugh. He looks like he has an itch on his arm but his hands are dirty so he has to use his elbow to scratch it.
I believe there is a new Raylan book out now that Peter Leonard wrote. Hopefully it happens in the next few years.
It seems like the only "Hollywood Couples" that actually have lasting marriages are the ones where only one of them is a star and the other is an ordinary person outside of Hollywood. Very few marriages where both couples are actors seem to last and ones that have successful careers and marriages really have to put in the work for both. I saw an interview with John Krasinski where he said that while he was filming Jack Ryan all over the world he flew home to London every single weekend to see his wife (Emily Blunt) and daughters no matter if he was filming in the US, Canada, or Morocco. I love that about Tim that he has been with his wife for so long and still appears to be completely in love with her and is such a hands on dad (everything I want in a future husband). Doing the bulk of his work in LA seems to have really paid off for him and his family.

Yeah that's why I thought Ewan would make it too - his wife was a makeup artist I believe but hadn't worked in a long time. Tim said he'd love doing Fargo (amazing show) but six months in Alberta? Martin Freeman's long-term relationship with Amanda Abidal blew up right after he was in Fargo too. Seems to be the destroyer of relationships. By the way, the trollop Ewan ran off with (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) played John McClane's daughter in Die Hard whom Tim's character kidnapped.
But notice in this interview how Tim mentions that now, with the kids soon out of the nest, he would take his wife with him to Hungary or wherever! Like, he's in if she's in. ❤❤❤ I had no idea he was offered a soap opera. That must have been really tempting to take because of the steady money. But he really put a lot of thought into a lot of his career choices. Wish he would write that book.

As someone who is frequently finding new ways to scratch itches at work that is where my mind immediately went but dancing makes more sense. Also I have to say that a turtle neck under a leather shirt buttoned to the top is an interesting combination. The man rocks it but it wouldn't be one of my fashion choices. I don't think he has ever mentioned being offered a soap before. That is where so many actors get their start though so it kind of makes sense. Tim seems to have figured out that old saying "happy wife equals happy life." And if your kids are all off at college doing their own thing why not fly to Budapest for a couple months with your husband so he can shoot a movie?

Anybody know if this interview is just online or in the print edition as well?

Anybody know if this interview is just online or in the print edition as well? I'm guessing just online, because of the timing of when it came out. It's very long but there's nothing mentioned about the issue, and it's not on the June/July cover with Seth Rogen.

I hope he got to keep something from the shoot. That Dolce & Gabbana suit and Gucci pants look amazing on him.
