The Deadwood Marathon begins at 12 pm, Thursday, May 30th on HBO 2. It concludes with the final episode at 7pm (EST) on May 31st, and is immediately followed by the airing of Deadwood: The Movie at 8pm on Friday May 31st.
I'm already watching on my own, halfway through the first season. So interesting to see Tim knowing how he feels about his performance. I feel he is at his best with in the scenes with Alma Garret, because we see him being warm and kind, and this clearly comes a lot easier to him than portraying a very angry man from a different century.

Woohoo! I am also doing a Deadwood marathon and I am on Season 2, Episode 10. I so love Tim in all of Deadwood, but you can see that by Season 2, he seemed to do even more with Seth and I just love every scene he is in! I do especially love his scenes with Alma and also Martha and her son. It will be a beautiful thing to see Tim in the last episode of Season 3 and then to see him as the more mature Seth years later! I know I will want more! Just as Tim was saying in one of the interviews at the Deadwood premiere. We would all be happy with more!
So excited!!

A few episodes into season three on my rewatch. I'm adding as many screengrabs as I can to IMDB. I thought his scenes with women, Alma, Martha, and Trixie, were the best by far. You can tell how he is enamored with Alma, yet how much he respects Martha and is slowly falling in love with her. But his character was always so respectful of women. Anna Gunn's performance, playing such a dignified and honorable woman in hellish circumstances, was just amazing. The subtle nuances of that scene where she meets Alma are just amazing. She figures out in 2 seconds what has been going on. I look forward to seeing how drastically different his relationship with Martha will be in the movie. I assume he no longer calls her "Mrs. Bullock." Coincidentally, Seth had two daughters and a son, like Tim. And the love scenes... hello, Sheriff Bullock.

Love, love, love the hot scenes with Seth and Alma! I always imagine me as Alma in those scenes I am also excited to see how his relationships with Alma and Martha have changed over the years since he and Martha were obviously enjoying some intimate times over the years to give them the new children Thanks, SG, for these screengrabs! I so so love them!

I have been trying to re watch but every time I start an episode lately I end up falling asleep. I really enjoy Deadwood but I also struggle with it because you really have to pay attention and listen to what is being said since the dialogue is so complex, I'm not so great at keeping up with shows like that; which is why I haven't ever been able to get into Game of Thrones. I started Deadwood about this time last year and it took me like 6 or 7 months to finish the series. So I definitely am not going to get it all watched before the movie premieres. I remember really liking season 2 but I really struggled with season 3. I agree that Tim's best scenes were with Martha, William, and Alma. None the less I am excited to see the movie in a few more days.

Yup, the same here. It took me a really long time to get into it because it was so complex. I am someone who finds it hard to pay attention to one thing so I'm usually watching stuff while I work or just browsing around. But once I put the effort in, I was hooked. I only started watching because of Tim, and I think I watched the pilot a few times because I couldn't get beyond that. The rewatches are easy and I love how I notice new things and find new appreciation for characters. Nobody writes characters better than David Milch.
At the same time, I'm glad I didn't watch while it was first broadcast or I would have been traumatized by the cancellation.
