I still can't believe we won't get another season of SCD. What do you think Tim should do next? More TV? I'd like to see him go back on stage. I still wish Kenny Lonergan would make Hold On to Me Darling into a film.

I would love to see Tim on stage again too. Unfortunately I would be surprised if we see him on stage in NYC until after his youngest is done with high school and off to college unless it is some incredible opportunity that he can't pass up or happens in LA. I don't think he wants to be away from home for that long until he and Mrs. O are empty nesters, just based off of what he said on the Larry Flick interview.
It would be great to see him star in another TV series, maybe on HBO or even on another streaming service like Amazon Prime since we know Tim likes the appeal of the shorter seasons.

I was thinking HBO too because I was thinking about Barry, and how unexpected it was for Bill Hader to find success in that role. Tim just needs the right project and role to totally make his, something like Alec Baldwin in 30 Rock, to rack up the Emmys and Golden Globes. The only silver lining to losing SCD is that it should open Tim up to do something new, since he's so picky about his roles.

I'd love to see him do more comedy. Justified and Deadwood are fantastic but aside from SCD and a few small guest roles on tv shows he hasn't done much comedy. He's so underrated as a comedic actor.
Would also love to see him live out his dream of hosting a talk show.

I wish he'd do more in comedy. He's criminally underrated. A talk show would probably be way more work than he'd like to do, but I'd LOVE him to do an acting podcast. That would be amazing.
At least we still have two more things coming out this year with the Deadwood movie and Tarantino film. And I keep hoping that Curb Your Enthusiasm is really happening...

Wow! I love you all so much ❤️ It would have been too hard to take the end of Tim as Joel without all of you ❤️
Tim is so precious in comedy and all the fun he brings with his talk show appearances ❤️
I wish I could have seen him in Hold Onto Me Darling ❤️
I’m keeping the positive vibes going that he will have another fun role to play that we can all enjoy ❤️ Such a brilliant and beautiful man 😍❤️

I’d like to see him in more films, in leading roles. I think his talent is wasted in stuff to like Mother’s Day & recent roles have been way too small. Would love to see Hold On To Me Darling as a film although adding non-dialogue shots & scenes would make it 3+ hours long! (I don’t think Kenny Lonergan is keen on editing stuff out.) He should do more theatre, he so clearly enjoys the interaction with the audience.

I don't think Hollywood knows what to do with his talent. Someone who gets it needs to write a role just for him. Hopefully Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which I am guessing will be one of the biggest films of the year, will lead to even more A-list roles.
Didn't he sign with a new agent a year ago or so? Whoever that is needs to hit the pavement to get him the best scripts.

That's going to be amazing. I'm sure we'll see Quentin, and possibly Leo and Brad if they are available. I would love it if Tim go to take Mrs. O to the Croisette!

I can't believe it also, it ended with such a cliff-hanger and there is lots more to do with that series, i am so angry at Netflix. On a happier note, my other half, don't know how he copes with me going on about Tim (Lol), bought me the full series of Justified on Blu-ray to cheer me up. Bless him.

So this seemed the most appropriate thread to post this in. Marvel announced at San Diego Comic Con this weekend that they are making another Fantastic Four movie (the 3 previous Fantastic Four movies were made by 2oth Century Fox). The most recent Fantastic Four released in 2015 was a total flop, even the director and the actors didn't like it.
Fans have been casting Tim as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic for years. I think it would be awesome to see Tim in a role like this. I don't think it will happen though. He doesn't seem interested in the big blockbuster movies and if he does a Marvel movie, especially a lead role like Mr Fantastic, he would most definitely lose the relative anonymity he has with being able to live his life without being constantly approached by fans.
Right now the movie has only been confirm as in development and does not have a release date nor has it been cast. So Tim playing Mr. Fantastic (we already know he's fantastic) is only a dream dreamt by many at this point. Anyway, what are everyone's thoughts on the possibility of seeing Tim in this?

I would love this for Tim! He's definitely Mr. Fantastic. I don't know any of the comics but it seems from Google images that this guy is a handsome brown-haired man on his way to silver fox status, so, Tim doesn't even need to audition. By the way, I am so out of touch with the Marvel Universe. I did see the new Spider-Man film but that was seriously the first superhero movie I've seen in like 10 years... I haven't seen Iron Man or any of the Avengers films.

I think Tim might be amenable to starring in a Marvel film. He did audition for Iron Man after all. I’d love to see him in a big role like this, it’s really frustrating seeing him in small roles in major films like Snowden & OUATIH. Let’s hope Marvel take on board fan casting suggestions.

I’m really not into the comics either so my Fantastic Four knowledge is limited. I think I saw part of the 2005 movie but I really don’t remember much about it. Tim would be awesome in a Marvel movie though. Maybe now that 2 out of 3 kids are out of the house he would be more open to the idea of a big summer blockbuster like F4. And who knows, by the time this movie gets made #3 could be out as well. According to Twitter the other fan favorite for Reed Richards is John Krasinski. As much as I love John I think I’d prefer Tim in this role. You should watch the MCU movies from the beginning. They are so good. Although admittedly the first two Thor movies are the weak links in my opinion. Start with Captain America the First Avenger and go in Chronological order. You can skip the tv series, although I highly recommend Daredevil on Netflix. You can also skip The Incredible Hulk if you want, it was made by Fox and wasn’t great, and Mark Ruffalo replaces Ed Norton in Avengers. Robert Downey Jr. is amazing as Tony Stark, I don’t think anyone will ever be able to play Tony in the future.. And Captain America The Winter Soldier is my all time favorite Marvel movie, so so good. Sebastian Stan is so good in it, acting with almost no dialogue. I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep up with the new Marvel stuff as actively as I did prior to Endgame and the conclusion of Phase 3 with Spiderman Far From Home. I will probably make it a point to see the movies with the characters that have already been introduced but a lot of the new ones they are introducing don’t hold much interest for me at this point. I’ll probably wait for those movies to come out on Redbox.

Wow thanks for the chron order thing... I did see Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel! I love Chris Pratt. I love RDJ too. What an amazing comeback. For the most part I can't take superhero movies anymore. I realized that the other day when I was at the movies to see Spider-Man. Tom Holland is awesome but I kept thinking, "This is stupid." They all seem to be the same movie. I think I've just gotten too old for it.
I also saw Yesterday, the new Danny Boyle film, and loved it. I would love for Tim to do another film with him since he was mostly cut out of A Life Less Ordinary. Cannot wait for OUATIH! I'm going to try to go on Thursday.

The Guardians movies are really good. Chris Pratt is awesome as Star Lord. The Marvel movies aren't for everyone but they are fun movies. And also make a lot more sense if you have seen them in order. I watched them by trilogy the first time, not realizing they were all connected and was super confused and also thought they were kind of dumb but once I watched them in order they made a lot more sense.
I just saw Yesterday and was really impressed with it, I didn't know much about it going in but I really enjoyed it and it totally didn't go in the direction I thought it would. I also cannot wait for OUATIH, I'm also hoping to go Thursday night. BTW I keep checking the talk show line ups and Tim isn't listed on any of them. Most this week are showing reruns including Conan. Actually none of the cast is listed as guests for any of the shows that aren't on reruns this week. Maybe next week we will see Tim on Conan again.

IMDB has Tim listed in the cast for The Starling, also staring Melissa McCarthy. I haven't found any press releases officially announcing Tim's involvement though, just an article from Collider stating that Melissa McCarthy and Chris O'Dowd are in talks to play the married couple, it also gives a better description of the movie than imdb does. O'Dowd is listed as rumored on imdb so maybe he hasn't actually signed on yet. After the thing with Beef, I'm leery of imdb's accuracy when it comes to casting until I see an official announcement.

I'm not very confident in this IMDB entry. Look at the description!! Huh? I swear when I read that the other day it said the husband was grieving and wife was suicidal. But maybe I just misread considering how messed up that description is. 🤨 If it weren’t for the Collider article I would be compelled to believe that this is fake. I only saw it becuase I clicked on Tim’s imdb after looking at the cast list for OUATIH after I went to it. Didn’t recognize Dakota Fanning in the movie so I had to look her up after.
