So, saw in the TV Guide last night that Gone in 60 Seconds was on, thought 'Yay, Tim's on telly'. Flicked over only to find men in flares & big hair sitting in a office. 'Funny don't remember that scene?!?' before the penny dropped. The film Tim's in is a remake of a 1974 film, which features a 40 minute car chase. Tim's got the best line for either film "Are you ok? Are you sure? 'Cos you just went through a wall!"

Yay for Tim! I totally missed seeing the Tim awesomeness the first time I saw Gone in 60 seconds many many years ago. He did not seem to have that special Tim magic in that movie 😀
The same with A Man Apart where he was the bad guy with no hotness that I could see at the time.
My all time fave Tim movie is Perfect Getaway😍
Total heat and awesomeness 😍

I remember seeing this in theaters back in the day! And the only reason I knew it was a remake was because I had a friend (who was about 10 years older) who thought it would be cool to watch the first one and then go see the new one right after. I never did see the original.
I've always thought this movie was super entertaining. I actually vaguely remember Tim in it. I remember thinking it was the guy from Go and SATC and thinking "oh that guy's career is blowing up" and figuring he was going to be in every big film. Knowing what we know now about The Fast and The Furious, and the studio saying they would finance it if they could get Timothy Olyphant, it seemed like Hollywood thought the same thing and had decided he was going to be the next big bankable star. I wonder if that is what Tim meant in the Nerdist interview:
I've always been curious about this. I'm wondering what time period he is referring to? Maybe post-Go and pre-Deadwood? It seems like he was in a lot of forgettable movies during this time period.

Way too short clip of an interview: I think the point he's making is the car is really crashing into things. Delroy Lindo & Nicolas Cage spent a few days in stunt driving school so they could make the chase shots more realistic, i.e. they're are really driving, the car isn't sitting on a trailer or a gimble.
