I don't know how I feel about this. Especially if Mary turns out to be some long lost half sister. Hopefully she's just some distant cousin of Helen and Frances'.
No wonder Raylan's such a good hillbilly whisperer. Looks like those roots run deep. LOL

Love the tantalizing tidbits. It sounds as if this might be the craziest season yet. Thanks for all of the info. I can't wait to see Raylan deal with all of this shit.

I'm getting to point of not caring what the stories are like so long as he is in something new!

Mary could be an aunt /sister of Arlo that Arlo forgot to mention and she might want the house....more angst for Raylan...more lies from Arlo...they need to keep some connection to Raylan's Givens roots and with both Helen and Frances deceased...plus we have all had questions regarding all the implied Frances stuff...maybe Mary is a key to the past or even worse...she and Arlo were lovers and he was unfaithful to both Frances and Helen...with NO OFFSPRING/Sibling for Raylan. Just more troubles for the "almost free of the past Raylan"

I hope she's just some long lost cousin of Helen and Frances, too..I would still watch if she turns out to be some long lost half sister, but I think it would be kinda weird.

Oh I think if Yost was planning a sister for Raylan we would be hearing way more. I think since we know Frances side of the family and the only thing we know about Arlo is his preacher father....you remember "Lord of War and Thunder"....there could be Arlo's siblings and maybe they will step up to free or punish Arlo....making another issue for poor Raylan.

Gah! We've been asking for this. A long, lost relative!!! (They are rarely a good thing ... which smacks of Arlo.) Weegie, I'm with you. Just give us something new and good. I've learned to trust these writers (even when I don't).

Here's this from Jim Beaver (I follow him on Twitter...what a great guy!)
Okay, here's (some of) what's going on. I posted recently about being offered what I call my "John Wayne role," the lead in a really terrific action thriller script, and how I couldn't accept it because the budget wasn't sufficient for my salary to cover even my childcare while I was in Maine shooting, much less the other things I depend on salary to cover. I was very disappointed artistically, but practically, there simply was no way to do it. Then the producers came back with the possibility of a bump sufficient to cover my costs being away from home for three weeks. It looked, yesterday, as though it was going to happen, and I was very excited. Great role, great adventure, great script. And then I got a call from the executive producer of a show I've appeared on in a recurring part a few times. He told me that they had some plans to augment my character and that they very much needed me to be available during the time the movie was shooting. Monetarily, it wasn't a big issue, whichever choice I made. But this is a great show with great writing, and the promise of enlarged participation in it, plus the loyalty I feel for the fine treatment I've had there in the past, made my decision clear, if not easy. As a result, I'm not going to the Maine woods to play my first lead in a feature film. But I am doing the entire season of one of the best shows on TV, I am booked for work through the end of March, and I am working in town and not away from my little girl, whom I was with only 3 weeks the first 6 months of this year. I still am not sure I should say what the show is, even though I've done it before. But I will say it will be good to work with Tim again. You take it from there.
Looks like we'll be seeing more of Sheriff Shelby. Yay!!

That's great wkw! Shelby is one of the few non-main(?) characters that I actually care about. And I hope he's there throughout the remainder of the series.

Yea shelby! He is sherrif because Boyd got Napier's sister a court job and he was diqualified from the election, right? Did we decide if Shelby had liver cancer or was he faking the deputies out? Are we counting Shelby as Team Boyd?

Are we counting Shelby as Team Boyd? I don't think that Shelby has liver cancer, just quick on his feet. And he stated in the finale that he and Boyd were square in his mind. If they keep him around until the last season I think he could play a big part in Boyd and Ava's downfall.

Are we counting Shelby as Team Boyd? I think he's more "Team Shelby". He was happy enough for Boyd's help to get into office, but I think he believes in the law and won't be as willing as Boyd may think to bend it, or ignore it. Okey is probably right, and I'd love to see Jim Beaver stick around for the run of the series. I think he and Tim play off each other well, and Raylan needs another law enforcement officer to lean on in Harlan, what with Trooper Tom gone. I totally missed those two on Vegas. Hmmm. Might have to see if that ep is still on the tivo. I'm usually good at picking actors out.
